This announcement reminds me of the first time I saw this scary vision:

Ah, Rick McCallum, the biggest "yes man" around.

And here I thought I wouldn't have any more "oh no" moments concerning a film that has been stretched so thin to make an extra buck, even Riggs and Murtaugh would struggle with it.

The problem is this, people will be split into two, the one side being "what's wrong with you fan boys, give it a chance" etc.

Well to those pragmatists I say this, what ever happened to having a new original idea? Walt Disney may have started his career creating a few characters for repeat cartoon shorts, but the man spent a career re-telling classic tales (not expanding on them) and other original works.

Today Disney is like any other corporation who instead of innovating, just acquires old things and then milks them. Forgive me, it's the 2000s, we all live in a world in making a cheap buck. <lines up to direct the 34th reboot of Star Wars>
