Sadly, just because there's a market for it doesn't mean it will happen. The sales of the GOUT alone should have been cause enough for such a release, and it could have easily been done by Criterion as a niche DVD/BD issue working from archival LFL materials even in a 2K workflow. The sales would have been astronomical and everyone could have gotten the necessary percentages.

My own take on Disney's newest addition to their holiday video schedule:
