An idea for Halloween....

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had done or thought of a "blending" so to speak, into one film, the best (in my opinion anyway) elements of Halloween?

My idea consists of using the extended version of Halloween, followed by Halloween II in it's entirety, then ending it with the death of Laurie Strode from the first portion of Halloween Resurrection.

I know NOTHING about putting such a thing together, so how would any of you experienced folks do it?

I started to work on this a few weeks ago, but only planned to keep it to myself (and my wife).

I plan on using the extended edition of Halloween (with all of the TV scenes added-in) from the 2001 DVD and the extended edition of Halloween II (again, with all of the TV scenes added-in) from the 2012 DVD.

In fact, I purchased the new Halloween II Blu-ray+DVD release for this very project!

I wouldn't mind releasing it. Would you like it to be "our" project? If so, then PM me!

You mean the BD? I have the DVD version, and the "deleted scenes" are pan'n'scan 4:3, just like the TV cut (but lower quality and interlaced).

Though "HD" and "SD" have nothing to do with the aspect ratio anyway ;)

Also, I have a bootleg DVD of Halloween Resurrection called Halloween Homecoming.  The quality is absolutely terrible, but the beginning contains 8MM footage of Michael as a boy and family.  It is rather creepy and it's a damn shame it wasn't used in the final cut.

It probably looks like an old VHS capture that's been reencoded a few times and sent through KaZaA and back, like the producer's cut of Halloween 6.

OK, I'm willing to set aside some things to get this done before Halloween, but I'm pretty short on time nowadays, so I'm going to need some help.

What I need is: a big list telling me exactly where (frame numbers are preferable, but time/scene-description would be fine as well) each deleted scene should be inserted.

I edited Post 2 to include a list of sources.

Are there any flashback scenes available in any of the other Halloween movies?

All of the above, unfortunately.  It's a real shame because for the first time in years, a Halloween film was feeling "connected" to the beginning story.  Perhaps the footage can still be used somehow, but I'm just not sure how.  Like maybe it was "newly discovered" and disclaimed as "highly damaged" or something.

Also, for the UPDATES portion, can we have the source media listed?  Such as (DVD) or (BD)?

They're all going to have to be DVD except for the Halloween II deleted scenes.

If you are working at DVD resolution then you can just take that youtube footage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22sKuZMlgcg) and add some film grain to it and it would look fine blown up for your edit. 

I was under the impression you were making an HD Fan Edit.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time or resources to work in >DVD quality.

Furthermore, the Halloween Extended Edition (2001; Anchor Bay) was never released in HD. Did they ever release the Halloween deleted scenes in HD?

As far as I know, the best quality footage of the extended version of Halloween is indeed the Anchor Bay release.  It's unfortunately riddled with scratches and whatnot, but at least there is a BD source for the film proper now.

The YouTube footage is on par with the quality of what I have.  It looks a little "better" than mine because the viewing size is smaller of course, but the AR and everything is essentially the same.  I still think though, in the end, my footage would be higher quality for the project, simply because of the source compared to it being off the net.
