Just to add something to this little aspect at this point - a while back I was lucky enough to get a screenshot preview of the way that adywan intends to re-do his version of the 'Torture Droid's needle.

Although I can't divulge it's description, I'd just like to confirm that most people should absolutely love his latest version!  It looks terrific and I'm looking forward to seeing it in motion. :)

Yeah, I got to see it too. It's pretty sweet! In fact, as much as I hate to be the guy who goes around ruining all the surprises, I just can't help sharing the screenshot with the rest of you. Enjoy:

But will the droid now say "INTERROGATE! INTERROGATE!" in a high-pitched, electronically modulated british voice?

Along the same lines, as annoying as the floaty droid thing was in 1997 the idea makes sense.

If you were to have an Imperial road block something that functioned like that would make sense if it was A) more realistic and B) less obtrusive.

Maybe something more compact and simple (like the Sith probe droids in TPM but gloss white and not saying, "boy, boy, boy" all the time).

Maybe something higher up too like a drone.

Catching the droids is a high priority after all and it is a special edition.

Maybe Kenobi's hand swipe confuses it's cameras.

Oh, it was saying "boy, boy, boy"?

Well that's just stupid.

Indeed.

I was thinking as much as some people find the delays between these projects frustrating it might make sense to treat ROTJ:R and AR:SE as a single mega project in much the same way that PT:R is going to be.

Some jobs are easier than others.

While the more fiddly delay making bits of ROTJ:R might be impossible to do it makes sense to work on the more simple, less fiddly bits of AR:SE.

While it might mean Jedi takes longer to emerge than it would normally, it would result in a complete HD OT:R and clear the decks for the PT:R.

I think that idea is absolutely brilliant! I honestly think we'd end up getting ANH:R:SE first (sorry, ARSE just isn't doing it for me :P)

Even if not, it would be nice to only have a single wait to complete the OT.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

^LOL.

And I think that's a great idea but it's up to Ady of course.

I was thinking about doing ESB and ROTJ at the same time but I wouldn't have enough HDD space for working on two films at the same time. Ady probably would though, I guess.

I haven't seen any version of Star Wars later than the 1995 THX release (yes, I haven't seen the SEs or the subsequent re-releases of them)... until now!

Thank you, Adywan, for making my first SE experience amazing!

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

I applaud you for staying pure for so long! Impressive. Most impressive.

Thank you, but the truth is that Star Wars was "only a movie" for me until recently.

I didn't see the SEs in theaters because "I [had] that movie at home!"

A rather simple suggestion: 3PO says, "There'll be no escape for the princess this time," in the original and purist editions, and Ady made the controversial change to simply, "There'll be no escape this time."  Well, in the novel 3PO says something like, "There's no escape for the Captain this time," and seems throughout the movie to be completely ignorant as to Leia's presence and role on the ship.  He's never shown any skill at being a liar, and the film gives every indication that he really didn't know what was going on.  I wonder if a future release could simply say, "There'll be no escape for the captain [or 'Captain Antilles'] this time."  It seems logical and consistent with both the way the film unfolds and the way the novel reads.

"The Princess" was the nickname given to Captain Antilles in the third book of the Diplomatic Missions series. Threepio had never met Princess Leia (or Agent Skyhook as she was referred to shipside).

I liked Ady's original change but your idea sounds interesting too.

It wouldn't take too long to make an audio mock up of it and put it to a taste test.

I can give it a try.  Of course it's not a critical change, but it would be interesting to me.

As a Christmas present to you, I'll remember to post the unofficial fan commentary for ANHR, done by me with Commentary Track Stars!

Since apparently the message didn't get through on Facebook (not like I would expect them to over there), I want to re-iterate that this is just a friend and I talking over the movie. It's meant to be entertaining more than informative. Adywan says on the comments on Facebook he is hoping to do an audio commentary for all of the Revisited HD versions, so you'll have to wait for that for a more traditional commentary track. Until then, you can have some fun watching the movie with me (since we barely talk about what's on screen, you can listen to the track & just pretend you're watching the movie!).

Anyway, check it out!

Has anyone seen the recently posted picture on the official Star Wars Facebook page? They've taken a picture of the post-Battle of Yavin awards ceremony and digitally added in a medal for Chewie. Gee... I wonder where I've seen this before?

Are you sure a fan didn't just upload Ady's version to the page? Because I'm sure that happens.
