I think of Minesweeper every time someone mentions Minecraft. I'm guessing it's more fun than it sounds? I actually finished a couple of games recently! Bad Company 2 and Dead Island (finally). I'm loving Telltale's Walking Dead, definitely their best game so far.

Actually, I just got a PS3 last weekend. I got it cheap from Cash Converters because discs wouldn't go in properly. Took it apart, played with it a bit (giggitty), and eventually got it working. :)

Now I'm all ready to play all the newest next-gen games.....

Okay......so when does the PS4 come out? o_O

Now I just need an xBox360 to put into my retro collection. ;)

lol. I'm soo 1337 !!!!1!!11!

I've been playing it on & off for a while. It definitely sucks up a lot my time. Haven't used any mods yet.

I'm playing Vanilla too. Been playing all yesterday afternoon till night, and this morning right after I woke up, till 16:00 (obviously minus the time for dinner, breakfast and lunch).

I've made a lot of progress, even after a stupid creeper blew my house up. I had to rebuild everything from scratch, but this time I made sure to choose a slightly better place, and to put torches all around the house. I haven't been bothered yet. It also helps to build a bed as soon as possible.

Oh yeah, I finished the first episode from the original Doom.

This is another example of a game that doesn't need today's fancy graphics, endless narration and cutscenes, to be not only compelling and addictive, but also pretty damn scary!!

I'm hoping that MS do a really slim 360 to go alongside the really skinny PS3. In about five or six years time these will be the second hand models I hope to buy.

Meanwhile I've still got the SNES, Dreamcast, Gamecube, PSone, PS2 and Xbox (don't drop it on your toe) to keep me happy and infuriate the better half.

Dishonored is getting great reviews. They're all saying it's a game that actually lets you play and explore instead of holding your hand.

Minecraft

I just don't 'get' it.

Doom

Play it all the time on 360 - I wish they'd put out more map packs like the bonus episode that came out with doom 2 on 360. I've never actually finished Doom 2 without cheating - I've made it all the way to the final level jbut I just can't seem to time my rockets..

Dishonoured

I hear good things about it but I'm just not sure, it just seems like too much of a mish mash of other things. I might check it out if I get desparate.

Borderlands 2

I'd like to say I got burnt but I knew full well what to expect, There's a bit of fun here and there but it's basically more of the same - Like an expansion pack.

I wasn't going to get it but I wanted something to burn through while I wait for Halo 4...I might try finish it quick and see if i Can trade it in towards my Halo 4 pre-order.

Halo 4

Anyone got big plans for it? November 6 [release day] is a public holiday over here [Melbourne Cup] so that's cool. I'll be going to a midnight launch with some friends but it wont be a big event, there wont be people in costume or anything like that.

Black Mesa: Source

It's not bad but I was never really into Half-Life. I only ever played snippets so I'm probably not the best person to pass judgement. It looks pretty decent with the visuals cranked but I don't think I'm very far along - I just got my first weapon - a crowbar, Now i'm wandering around a lab somewhere.

Oh man, I freaking adore Half-Life. I rarely think of it when asked to come up with my favorite game or make recommendations, but anytime I think about it or see anything Half-Life related I get a little weak in the knees and feel my girly bits grow a little moist.

It was a perfect blend of exciting and scary. I found the storyline genuinely entertaining and engaging, and can't count the times I nearly wet myself when hearing that little head crab scream come out of nowhere.

So yeah, Half-Life was great, then they went and made Half-Life 2 and made the whole thing even more freaking fantastic! Where do we go from here? How do you make a sequel to a game about a dorky scientist trying to escape an alien infested research facility? Instead of a silly cliched typical half assed sequel, they flash forward many years and show us a future entirely shaped by the events of the first game in which the entire world is now under oppressive alien rule.

Finished Half Life 2 for the first time a few weeks ago. Looking forward to getting around to Black Mesa but I'm waiting for the Steam release.

Currently I'm playing Kingdom Hearts for the first time as well as HALO 3: ODST.

I still think the best bit of Half Life is the very beginning.

You go to work on a train through essentially a Bond villain's lair and wander around.

Imagine a CERN employee simulator.

I'd play that for months (especially if I worked at CERN).

I originally wanted to buy a broken one on the cheap, just to use as decor. Because for $50-80, it's kind of a cool, futuristric yet cheesy sort of rare thing to have over top of your TV. But when I found a tested and working one that came with the only good game for it(Mario Tennis) for only $40 more, I thought what the hell. Mario Tennis was one of the only games I played for it back in the day, and if it ships broken (these things were made like china ware) then I basically got what I wanted, and if it works then hey, I guess I have 3-4 hours of entertainment ahead of me before I get bored and put it on the mantle to collect dust like I wanted. Considering these normally sell for $300-500, I felt like I got an okay deal. Plus I can still try out that Wario game I never got to play.

Also, the last time I owned Nintendo hardware was 1990, but as my parents bought me my Gameboy this is the first Nintendo hardware I have actually paid for myself. My Sega consoles are judging me right now...fortunately, I have the Dreamcast fishing rod accessory on my way in the mail with two fishing games.

It's actually pretty awesome you got one. They're good conversation pieces for nerds if nothing else.

I remember the one jerk kid who got everything he ever wanted in my neighbourhood had one. I never got to touch it. I doubt it got any use, though, just because of it being brittle and not so great.
