Some projectionists love to do this (basically splice all the reels together lying flat on a platter so that there are no reel changes) but it can really mess up the film. Platter damage is like the #1 cause of damage to film now-a-days.

Also, it is worth checking to see if you can watch it "full frame." They should be able to have the anamorphic lens on without having the framing guides on, so you could watch all the way to the edge of the screen!

Edit: Hey, just a thought, could you get all the technical specs from the theater for all of the projection nuts? (prime lenses, anamorphic lenses, sound receiver, etc.) That would be really cool to see what the last of the real movie houses are using - old vs. new technology.

no platters for me.. but yes for the LPP..

besides, for my 'used' reels, they're pretty beat up anyways,

so i'm NOT worried about them.. just happy to see them

projected..

i'll find out about the framing also..

and yeah, i'll ask what equipment they're using the next

time i go..
