Not good enough. The Star Wars Gods demand the sacrifice of a virgin as well. Shouldn't be too hard to find here...

Good thing it's not a virgin girl. I think a girl of any type would be a tough thing to find around here...

Thank you SilverWook. This is exactly why I was kinda apologizing for making another version, some people just approach this as if it was some kind of official release. So, let me repeat, I'm making these mainly for myself and I'm sharing them for free, so if I do decide to make v999999999999.0, it's my business and your choice to download it or not.
I'll see what I can do. I don't know about the interactive stuff though, that wouldn't exactly be the original, now would it? Maybe as a bonus feature ;-)

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.
any luck with HD reel countdowns?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I have the '93 mix ripped straight from the LDs in PCM format, and i would rather have that instead of the 320kbps mix on the MKV. is there an easy way to add / substitute it? TSMuxer?

Download MKVToolnix + mkvmergeGUI.
IF the audio is properly synchronized, it's work for only a few minutes

The irony in this question is delicious.
I think you mean ironing. ;)
Don't be dumberer. :p
Thank you Harmy for your great work.
Manny people are complaining about the too bright scenes and on my TV they really looked odd. But on my beamer (TW 9000) they look not so bad. Maybe the circuits in modern TV´s do their part in making things worse?
I repeatedly asked people not to post things like this in the thread, exactly because most people won't notice them unless they know about them and once they do know, they'll notice and won't ever be able to unnotice. And the experience will be ruined a little bit for them.
This still applies, even though I'm doing another version, because there are limits to what I can do with certain things.

Also I´ve noticed that...
How is it that you read far back enough to know people were commenting on the Ben meets Luke scene, and yet strangely missed Harmy's repeated posts requesting people keep comments regarding "errors" confined to PMs?
At any rate, don't sweat it Harmy. Even if the occasional "limitation in what you can do" is noticeable, it doesn't detract from what you've achieved in this fantastic preservation. If I pick up on any of these omissions, I look at them the same way I look at errors in the original film: as charming little byproducts of the process (in this case, the process of cobbling together the original Star Wars from whatever sources you could lay your hands on). It doesn't change the most important fact, which is that when I watch v2.0, I feel like I'm finally watching a professional release of the OT.
Don't let the occasional mindless post upset you : )
“It’s a lot of fun… it’s a lot of fun to watch Star Wars.” – Bill Moyers
Further to Corellian77's comment, I have spent thousands of hours in After Effects scrutinising almost every pixel of this film and, after watching the finished version, not a single edit seemed obvious or took me out of the film. Its an utterly outstanding effort in every way. I'd resigned myself to never in my lifetime being able to see Star Wars in HD without ridiculous CGI additions and with it's original colours. Its a gift, and a very generous one at that. If you're late to the game at least pay Harmy the courtesy of reading back through the thread and respecting his wishes.

Harmy, might I suggest that you announce your desire in the title of the thread? If you state there that all mistakes or misses be sent via PM in the title, more people might notice. I know a lot of people, especially newer folks, simply go to the last page to read, and probably miss a lot of announcements on the way.

Yeah, sorry, the CAPS was a bit over the top. I wasn't really that mad, I just wanted to make the post extra visible. But it does have the effect of making it seem like you're shouting at the top of your lungs, doesn't it?

i'm sure you'll have to do it again a few
more times, once the bluray and avchd 2.1's
come out..
but posting in all lower case is
like whispering ... shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..

Just trying to make heads or tails on the different versions.
Will there be a 2.1 AVCHD, BD and MKV released?
Thanks again, the family loves these.
No, just AVCHD and BD. You can create an MKV from either one in five minutes.
Harmy: I have to say, I really never thought I would see the original trilogy with such great quality. It's awesome, what you've done and I feel so happy being able to watch your amazing restorations. Thank you for your sharing the product of countless hours of your work!
P.S. I will be buying a bd-r drive just for your blu-ray versions! Can't wait for TESB 2.0+!!
I'd just like to say thanks again, I got a chance to look at the AVCHD now and it's simply breathtaking!
And I'd like to add that rather than being 'upset that I have to download it again' to have the current incarnation of the Despecialized Edition, I feel spoiled that you're taking even more of your time to fix a few more things (however minor they may be). Each new version is an improvement over the last and I'll gladly use more of my bandwidth to obtain for myself and help seed for others this outstanding gift to the fans.
I think the Quality of this release is one of the best, because you can see skin pores, and much more detail.

One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.
