I fully agree, by the way, about the douches ruining the Trilby. Same for the Stingy Brims. I was just goofing because you guys are all with your 007 theme now.

I was very tempted when I was in Chicago recently to go to Optimo, one of the premier hat makers in the U.S., and get a nice Fedora. Had the address and had the hat picked out - but in the end, the douche culture surrounding Fedoras kept me away. I'll eventually make the jump, but I'll first have to make peace with Johnny Depp & Charlie Sheen polluting the Fedora landscape.

A co-worker of mine who is always quick to jump on the latest "I'm not mainstream, I'm a hip outsider" trend is probably the one guy who was most influential in putting me off of getting one. Once I saw it in his office and heard him mention that he and his wife took turns wearing it at a Flaming Lips concert, I knew I'd have to wait another year or so.
