One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.

I usually just like giving people hell for poor English, but in this case I really can't figure out the meaning.
Like make the Originals known form the preservations

^^ Fixed. Ease up, Frink. English isn't his first language, but his heart's in the right place. :)
It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

That's a contradiction.

I made that mistake a while back myself.
And lol, Puggo.
I've seen your cut and its fantastic. The remastered version is the best. Two quick questions. You mentioned you had to slow down the first few frames of the shot where Han says 'Yes I bet you have'. Why not use the GOUT for that shot? Also the shot of the fleet taking off (with the white flashes) in the original it was four ships in each row but in your cut it looks like 3 ships in each row. Was that intentional or was that an accident?
I've made a torrent for the fixed DVD5 over at the spleen if anybody's looking for it; CatBus nuked his upload of the old one some time earlier today.

Your comment made me discover yet another change that's gone unnoticed: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Complete-Comparison-of-Special-Edition-Visual-Changes/post/594949/#TopicPost594949
We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.
Sincerely, Lynne Hale publicity@lucasfilm.com
That's simple why I didn't use the GOUT. Because it looks like crap. And as to that ships taking off shot, I never noticed that, so it's indeed probably a little mistake. The fourth ships are still there but much less visible.

Here is a frame from the Jedi1.net scans and MV's screen photo recoloured to the colours of my reference source automatically using the colorlike avisynth plugin:
just watched your version on a bigscreen tv yesterday,
it matched our's pretty closely also... for some reason
watching it on a tv with different settings was quite
different from viewing it on a monitor....
i'm used to watching almost all my videos on monitors,
so it's just a matter of setting your color preferences
to match what you think is right.

His English is so bad that I think that was the general consensus. Thank God for Ziggy Stardust :P
Fantastic work Harmy, this blows 1.0 out of the water.

Looking forward to the day when the GOUT is a thing of the past! (And yeah, the quality difference for just a few frames...obviously not worth it.)

Sorry if this has been asked before, but will the Bluray have a bigger bitrate and quality than the MKV released?

Harmy has said that he's going to use the same bitrate for the video. There may be lossless audio from h_h, don't quite remember.
“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”
Yeah. There would really be nothing to be gained from using a higher bitrate. And, ok, I'm just gonna go out and say it, even though it's against my better judgement - I will likely do a new render for the BD in which I will fix a few things. I would still prefer any problem be reported via PM, so that I'm not caved in by an avalanche of suggestions and people trying to convince me to fix stuff I don't want to fix.
I might lower the gamma slightly on a few shots in the Luke meets Ben scene, but that's as far as I'm going with it.
All I can say is : THANKS

If nothing else, you'll be well positioned to tell us what it's like being a steak sandwich in a shark tank.
What's the latest on the AVCHD being uploaded?
Muxing it now, so if everything goes well it could be online in an hour or two.
