So there will be no audio fixes for the MKV? Isn't the AVCHD at a lower bitrate, making whatever fixes applied to it not as high in quality as the MKV?

This is going to get beyond frustrating before it's all over with. Can someone just please confirm if the MKV is going to be fixed or not, and how to obtain the fix?
