Es gab von Krieg der Sterne insgesamt 5 verschiedene Tonfassungen, welche auf teilweise unterschiedliche Geräuschbänder und Effekte beruhten.
70mm Dolby - US
35mm Dolby - US (andere Mischung als 70mm)
70mm Version)
35mm Mono - Deutsch
So pretty similiar to the English version, but:
Selbstverständlich hat man für die deutsche Fassung auf ein hervorragendes IT Master, welches von Ben Burtt erstellt wurde aufgebaut.
It seems Ben Burtt created a new sound master without dialog for all non-English versions, which maybe was similar to the English mono mix (considered the definitive mix by George Lucas at that time). They then added the German dialog to it and created different mixes for 70mm 6-track/35mm stereo and mono.?So all German mixes should have identical sound effects, not like the English 70mm/Stereo/Mono mixes. But they are different to all English mixes or at least the 70mm 6-track and 35mm stereo mix, so adding the German dialog to something like Hairy_Hen's 70mm recreation will give you something never be heard in German cinemas, but of course only if you are aiming for theatrical accurateness.
"Krieg der Sterne" was never released in 5.1 on Laserdisc in Germany, only in Dolby Stereo, which could be the same stereo mix used theatrically in 1978, but in some cases I have strong doubts about that.
At least with the 1995 THX LD and the GOUT, because the missing lines seem to indicate that they just added the German dialog again to a dialog-less master and forgot some parts of it.
The big question of course is, which dialog-less master did they use (maybe the original one created by Ben Burtt in 1977)? And did they changed anything while doing it? (I've heard about some strange echoes in the 1995 THX mix).
Sadly I don't know an answer to that.
So to have an theatrically accurate representation of the German audio you might have to use the audio of one of these LDs:
1993 Silver Screen Collection: (I don't know anything about missing lines / changes with this release)

1982 P&S:

or some old VHS tape.
But I personally really don't know which truly represents the original 1978 stereo mix. The German mono mix and the 70mm 6-track of course were never released in any form, so they are probably impossible to get, if they even still exist. (The re-adding dialog and missing lines while doing so are not a good indication that Fox Germany still has them in good condition).
Well, like I said all this is only interesting if you are aiming for a 100% recreation of the theatrical experience of "Krieg der Sterne". Personally I think it would be cool to have one track theatrically accurate as possible and one sounding as good as possible (maybe even in 5.1).
