No, 16bit 44.1kHz files are not blu ray compliant. They have to be upsampled to 48kHz, just like DVD. However, 44.1kHz should work fine when muxed to an mkv file.
That's great - thanks for clearing that up for me. Prefer to keep things bit-perfect and unchanged where possible. I'll keep this as it is and mux into an mkv as/when available then.
