Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released) — Page 225

Wow, this is truly amazing work!

I have a question about burning this to a Blu-ray.  Can I just burn the MKV file  to a BD-R or do I need to use this txMuxer application to convert it to a proper BD file structure?  I'm pretty sure my BD players can play MKVs.

If your BD player can play MKVs, than you can just burn it to BD as is and it should work. Might be a good idea to try and play it from an external HDD first if you have that option.

You may check online to see if you Blu Ray player is capable of MKV playback.  I know my Sony units don't.

Well, I'm behind the times it seems.

I came to mention that my (24 hour!) download from TPB was corrupt at about 1/4 of the way through. However, this is no longer news.

Currently I'm downloading it via MySpleen, at a rate of about 2.1MB/sec. If it looks good, I'll be seeding for a very long time.

Happy Belated Harmy!  I've been "offline" for the last couple of weeks moving and my internet isn't slated to be installed in my new house for two more days so I'm anxiously waiting on this download!

In any case I hate to be another one of the late crowds asking but is it possible to get an invite from someone for MS?  Very much appreciated in advance.

And Harmy, those screenshots actually left me every bit as impressed as I was the first time I saw these movies in the theater as a child.  Thank you for a job so well done!

Harmy, just wanted to say thanks for your hard work!  Watching the movie last night was a great experience; it truly is a different film from the commercially available version.

And happy birthday! It happened to be my birthday as well yesterday, and this was the ultimate present!

I'm still downloading, but I've used µTorrent's stream feature to at least check out the first few minutes, and I'm bummed out now: The German track isn't in sync!

I have no idea how this happened... I've extracted hairy_hen's 70mm track from the Decpecialization 1.0 and synced my German track to it... how can it be that it's out of sync now? Damnit...

@Harmy: BTW, did you re-transcode the German track to 192kbps?

in need of some tech support here - I am almost done downloading the MKV file and by BD player does play MKV files.  Can I just plug my external HD into my BD player via USB and watch this if I am currently downloading on a Mac computer?

So I decided to create a smaller mkv with only the video channel and the 1977 audio channels with mkvmerge, and this is part of the output:

/home/rox/Descargas/P2P/Completos/DeEdv2.0/Star.Wars.Despecialized.Edition.Remastered.Harmy.mkv: Error de la estructura del archivo Matroska en la posición 38318839. Resincronización hasta el siguiente elemento del nivel 1.

I'm not sure if those warnings are related with the 0:00:20 crash I saw... mkvmerge is still working, so I will check the final result.

Depends on your Blu ray player. With mine it's possible, while it wasn't on my previous one.

Please bear with me if I tend to get too excited about anything or say too much, I have issues.

@Laserschwert: Yes, I did transcode it, because I  wanted all the stereo foreign tracks to have the same bitrate. However, and I hope someone can confirm this, to me the German track seems perfectly in sync. Could it be because your download isn't finished?

I hope that it not being finished is the reason... as I can only watch the first 2 minutes or so, the best sync point to look at is the opening logo. But checking the other audio tracks, the spanish track is almost a second late. Strangely all the other foreign tracks are in sync... really weird. I hope it's fine once the download is complete.

That's true, but we can fix it on our own ;-)

The German track seems to be delayed. I noticed it during the appearance of the Star Wars logo and after the explosion of the Death Star. Between those two points, the track seems to be in sync sometimes but that's nothing new. Is there any possibility for you to measure the length of the delay? There also seems to be some noise error at the end of the track, but I can cut this error away on my own.

Oh crap, the Spanish track is definitely delayed and you're right, the German track is delayed by a tiny bit too, I didn't think to check the logo. I think the Spanish track was one of those I transcoded as well, so I guess it must be my fault, I'm sorry. I'll upload a synced tracks for both soon. If someone could please find or put together a tutorial on how to replace an audio file with MKV merge, I'd really appreciate it, I really need to study right now.

But I don't get it... I've tested my German track with Harmy's final 2.0 workprint in Media Player Classic (which allows using an external file as the audio track) and it was in sync. How can it be it isn't anymore?

Edit: Sorry Harmy, you replied faster than I did ;) Yeah, maybe it happened during re-transcoding. I still have the German track in my Dropbox (although I'd like to remove that noise error at the end of the track first)... maybe we should just NOT transcode it to 192kbps? Does anybody have time to torrent the track, once I fixed it? But first we should check if my original file is in sync once included in the MKV...

Like I said, something must have happened when I recoded it (that's what I get for using Premiere for something like that). I'm really sorry, I should have paid more attention to it.

Laserschwert and whoever sent me the Spanish track, do you still have the links, so that maybe I could just post those links at teh instead of reuploading?

EDIT: Sorry, you edited your post faster than I posted. I forgot it was in your dropbox. I guess we shouldn't post that link. I still have your orig. audio of course.

Author

Well, I'd rather not have a link to my Dropbox posted on TEH, but I'll try to find some other place to upload it to.

Yeah, it kinda is :D

BTW, I've checked the Premiere-exported WAV of my fixed German track, and it DOESN'T have the noise error at the very end... my encoded AC3 has it... what's going on??

The earlier version that you send me has it too. Perhaps the WAV-file is corrupted and the error just occurs after encoding as it happened with Harmy's H.264-file?

Or maybe I should try some other AC3 encoder... I'm using Besweet (via BeLight) right now.

Author

Yeah, I just checked and both the original German and Spanish audio files are in sync.

Phew, that's kind of a relief... now if only I could find away to fix the noise.
