Myspleen FAQ says they support bitTornado, but it quit working ages ago in my experience.
eros should try a different client.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Nice to hear that, there were some visible crushed blacks in the first release. Can you please tell me one example of completely crushed blacks that Harmy was unable to fix it?

I'm only getting around 9KBps on the MS torrent.  Perhaps I should try the original uloz.to links again?

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

Mine is downloading between 10KBps and 600KBps.

I'm getting pretty good speed at MS.  averaging 1.1 mbps after 10.6gb downloaded.

Indeed.  Now I'm back to 4.7MBps.  I guess I'll just let it ride.

Hey guys, I have a question. Harmy has used a fade-free Technicolor print of Star Wars, so we can assume his restoration is 99,99% perfect in terms of colors. But what about crushed blacks that are present in the 2004 master used by Lucasfilm for the DVD and Bluray releases? Do you removed them with your magic skills, Harmy?

I'd say the colours are like 85-90% accurate - it's impossible to get any closer with non-professional equipment and software. Not to mention that colours that appear on film are practically impossible to reproduce 100% faithfully in digital, so even my sources weren't absolutely 100% accurate.

The crushed blacks are practically non existent on this release though, or at least no worse than on any other really decent trasfer of some other film. I'll be posting some comparisons with v1.0 very soon.

Lol, that's more than my max download, to say nothing of my upload, and my connection is considered 'fast' here. That's it, I'm moving to Kansas City

Not really. Like Harmy said, he really eliminated that as an issue. There's one scene that I thought was particularly dark, when Darth Vader sense Ben Kenobi sneaking around while the gang is going to spring Princess Leia. But there's no reason to believe that that scene isn't true to the IB print.

I believe Snicker posted a Blu-ray shot of the DS landing bay, where you couldn't see as far down the hole the stormtroopers fell down because the shadows got completely black higher up than on other transfers.  But the thing is, while technically crushed, it didn't look unnatural--at some point the hole was going to get pitch black, the point just moved a bit.  I'd agree with Harmy, there may be some crushing here or there, but not enough to make it especially worse than any other transfer of another film IMO.

Yes, that scene was always this dark and was rather sloppily brightened for the SE. You'll also notice that the scene where Luke meets Ben is very bright - this look is also absolutely accurate to my IB source - It was so extreme that I was afraid to go there, so it wasn't that bright on any of the workprints but I decided to stay as accurate as possible in the end.

Aha, so I wasn't dreaming. I think that scene is a good test of whether your television or projector is properly calibrated or not.

About the issue with crushed blacks: Some scenes are impossible to fix, since they've simply removed the shadow detail completely for the blu-ray release.

This is a very good example, 70mm scan vs blu-ray with increased gamma:

I got home from work and was ready to watch the movie I just got from TPB...

That was a ******* waste.  I guess I'll see this in a few day's now with the nill speed I'm getting from My spleen.

Harmy, thanks for all your effort. Have been eagerly awaiting this and it looks absolutely great from what I've seen so far. Helping out seeding on myspleen as long as I can.

I'm sorry it's not going well for you right now, but I would stick around. There are now nine seeders on this now, one which has at least double my upspeed, but there are, as you can imagine, a lot of leechers, too. Patience...

Sorry, flynn2000.  That was my bad.  I'm on the MySpleen torrent now and my fiber-optics will speed things up.  I'm over halfway done already and will be seeding at full throttle.

You mean this scene?

Hello all, my first post here.  Let me add my voice to the chorus of THANK YOU's to Harmy for his magnificent work restoring the OOT.  It is truly appreciated!

I was in the process of downloading SW 2.0 from TPB when I heard it was a corrupt mkv, so I've stopped for now.

Unfortunately, I do not have an account on MySpleen.  Can someone send me an invite?  Or perhaps can someone start a new torrent on TPB or another site?

If any of my gears or circuits or bandwidth can help (toward seeding), I'll definitely donate it!

Thanks in advance!
