Eh, I still prefer ambiguous news to no news. I had entertained the same thoughts as You_Too as well, but that sounds a little too good to be true.
Also, btw, I keep meaning to ask. Neg1, I know you've said that you're only in as far as sw, but it's been quite convenient having a direct liaison to the restoration process. Are there any plans to keep people here in the loop as things continue to progress?

of it, or anything else i've mentioned recently.
we're still on track and getting closer.. so rest
at ease..
it's not mike v obviously, because he's involved
with his own project as you know... we're still
behind him in support and as a community you
should be also.. it IS someone who's not on this
or any other board. i worked with this person
way back when i first started up, and they gave
me some support, and are involved in a big way now.
i can't say anymore, because this person has their
own plans about what they would like to do, and
how they are going to do it .. in a way they will
probably take over from what i'm doing when i've left...
some of your guesses are getting closer, but
it's not quite there... realistically think about how
long this has taken... 2006 when this idea came
first came up:

so it's been 6 years. i came onboard with some ideas
in 2008. so it's been about 4 years (and counting).
empire still has about another year or 2 right?
then there's jedi ??? let's say that there's leads
on that...at least another year ? so that's 3-4 years
longer already... and after that ... ? ? ?
that's a lot of pieces of the puzzle. considering the
amount of information out there... people want the
trilogy right? it's not going to happen overnight. we
just want to make sure the pieces of the puzzle are
at least put into a framework where it can happen
without worrying about how/when and where it
will happen..
the real test of what's going to happen all depends
on the first release. we're all waiting to see exactly
how it goes, and what impact it will have.. in a way
we're keeping close tabs on puggos 16mm esb, and
of course harmy's despecialized 2.0 HD release,
because that has given us a lot of ideas about how
we are going to do it to..
exciting times ahead!

I highly doubt it. Remember, we're dealing with release prints here, way below the standard for RAH...
Not necessarily - I remember that RAH said that he would be willing to do it for free a while ago, and that Lucas turned him down. I don't think it would be below him to do a restoration w/ release prints at all. Look at what MVerta is able to accomplish with release prints...
