Tie-in to Star Tours, perhaps? Just going off the name.

I just watched that first clip of George over at CNN. He said it was a television show, this is probably the Star Wars show that Seth Green has been working on with Lucasfilm.

That was my first thought, Tobes. But then I saw it mentioned separately in the TFN link and kinda forgot about that...

Not that funny, except for the matte painting joke.

Is this what SW has devolved into, self parody? It's one thing when Robot Chicken does it, but this show is from Lucasfilm, right? Nobody thought a CW style show about Luke and the gang would sell? I'd pay money to see a Han Solo series like that one CGI fanfilm.

Maybe Frink can make use of that shot of Dex's diner blowing up though. ;)

Looks entertaining. I'd still rather see a Clone Wars style rebellion era series but I've got no problem doing stuff like this any more than stuff like Lego Star Wars.

Some of the youtube comments I've read have been a bit on the extreme side citing this show as the thing that has somehow officially ruined Star Wars.

"George, we hate you for making more Star Wars movies. Please make more Star Wars movies."

Well, that's a thing that exists. They could have a nightly cinemax show about Admiral Ackbar's Erotic Massage and I wouldn't care. (if they put out a plain vanilla catalog Star wars blu-ray that is impossible to lose one cent on).

There's a risk of oversaturation, (Robot Chicken and Mad do plenty of SW spoofs already) and even diluting the franchise.

Spaceballs was tried as an animated series, and it didn't exactly set the world on fire.

I wasn't sure about this but after looking at the trailer, it seems decent. I won't say it's great but it's kinda not bad either. I think I'll give this show a chance.

I saw the video linked on a site with the text, "Go [Blank] Yourself, George Lucas" and wondered what he had done to the OT this time...

It was amusing at times - like the matte painting bit - but it's hard not to feel as if Lucas continues to squander Star Wars. I agree with Ziggy and others that I don't see the value in making this an official and ongoing production.

The blue elephant in the room.

George enjoyed the Robot Chicken specials so much he gave Seth Green permission to develop his own series. This is the result.

Here's the actual trailer for the show by the way.

I'm sure the show is perfectly fine for whoever its aimed at. It's just a bit distracting that a month of it would pay for a very excellent blu-ray, just saying.

It seems as if few of the RC writers are involved with this. What made the RC sketches funny was how they used things in the movies as a jumping off point for the humor. Since when did Leia ever act like such a little spoiled stuck up brat? Bad enough she's been rendered as a short little bobble head freak.

Yeah, I believe I recall either Seth or George once saying the show was supposed to be like a kind of Star Wars Looney Tunes. But it seems as if instead of classic Looney Tunes they went with the Looney Tunes Show.

I like it.

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Not even remotely funny by my standard. Looks like something made by a guy locked in his basement solely watching SW for the last 20+ years, knowing nothing else (read: brainwashed, close-minded nerd).

What's even worse, it isn't just a fan-made animation, but an official SW production...

I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

Part of me finds it slightly amusing and harmless fun but most of me finds it taking a whored out memory and making it wear a sandwich board advertising it's own continued debasement.
