I wish we used Metric. Of course I also wish they would get rid of the 1/10th of a cent on gas prices.

Sorry pointless post here.

Hi all,

Newbie here with a question:

Who do I thank for making the anamorphic LD Definitive Collection DVD's? Have downloaded the movies from the torrents, they're pretty amazing and I'm very happy.

Most TV sets and DVD players play NTSC nowadays right ?

Well I think my DVD will play NTSC but will my TV display it properly?

If your DVD player will play NTSC it should also have the ability to switch to PAL - does your remote have a P/N button? My Apex has one and my MINTEK can be swithed in the menu.

CHECK THIS SITE to see if your player can do it. I'm sure it can as I've shipped MANY sets to Australia and the UK both which use PAL - never had any REPORTED PAL/NTSC playback problems

To all the aussies out there, if the TV and DVD player your using doesn't automatically adjust for NTSC playback, then they're both out of date, you've gotten saome bad luck from the manufacturer.

I'm not knocking anyone here, but thank god Australia has gone ultra compatible in the last fews years, where even the cheapest and smallest TVs are coming out with NTSC capabilities.

I'm in Australia, and I haven't had any problems with playing NTSC discs, most recent TV's will play both Pal and NTSC, or if your TV has an adjustable Vertical Hold you should be able to get a picture.

Azzarr! I can watch NTSC on my DVD and TV! OT here I come! Now, who gets my hard earned $$$? Rikter or TR47?

Anyone got the OT DVD's on PAL? Woe us Aussie's! We can't use NTSC!!!

I've never even HEARD of a DVD player sold anywhere in Europe that wouldn't play NTSC discs flawlessly, and I'll bet the situation in Australia is the same.

I have downloaded the torrent. Now what do I do. Can I play it without burning it to a disc?

Yes if you have DVD player software you just point to the video_ts folder and it should play - I use PowerDVD as it has the Best Dolby Digital playback - IMO

Thanks. I've got it to play. Now what do I need to burn it to a dvd.

Hello, hopefully someone here can help me? I do not use these forums often, usually I just read them, but I am trying to find good quality covers for my original trilogy dvd's. I saw them on a couple of sites about a year ago, but I just recently bought the dvd's, and you can tell the covers are copies of copies of...etc. I did a search but couldn't find anything. Sorry if this was the wrong place to post this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I am interested in oroiginal poster art covers, not the "faces" vhs ones from '95.

Hey jedikiller,

I have reposted my "poster covers" for you and anyone else who wants them in the "Definitive Collection DVD Covers" thread. These are my own originals and not copies of copies... Hope you like them.

Cheers,
The Dean

Hey, anyone knows were I can find the 4th disc with the extras for the Anarmophic set? I´ve tried suprnova.org and they don´t have it. And if not too much could anyone tell me what exactly is on that disc?

To those wondering about my set, it is progressing - slowly.

I have a perfect uncompressed RGB capture of ANH, and it looks better than it looks on my pioneer elite laserdisc. So far so good.
I am now going through the process of checking, colour grading and then encoding it.

The encode is tricky and I will be doing quite a bit of manual work on it, so probably another month or 2. I want it to be indistinguishable from the LD version.
Then I will move onto esb and rotj.
So it will be a little while, but I am hopeful that it will be a true archive of the films for posterity.
