Plinkett's Episode IV commentary rxns?

You only have to buy it if you want to download it. You can play it within the browser.

And I'd say the ad was about right; 3 to 5 laughs throughout the two hour running time.

My stance on revising fan edits.

Yeah, it wasn't very funny, not even remotely as funny as his prequel reviews, but I'm not really a fan of Plinkett and RedLetterMedia for the laughs so much as for the astute film analysis. You can't really fault these guys for that. And with as much reading as I do all day long, I love good film criticism on video (or mp3 in this case).

While it does feel at times like listening to one of your drunk friends try to make a point about something, the commentary has some excellent moments of explaining just what is so perfect about SW77, and he even points out a few plot holes I've never seen anyone else mention before. If you're the kind of guy who watches Star Wars multiple times a year, and you're a fan of Plinkett and RLM, it wouldn't hurt to watch it once with Plinkett's commentary

Yeah it seems pretty lame. Maybe the star wars schtick is getting into that embarrassing "Old Lucy" phase now. The "Prometheus questions" thing was good though.

I actually think commentaries for the original trilogy are a great idea, sort of an anti-prequel-review thing, explaining why the original trilogy is awesome instead of why the prequels suck. I think he just spent too much time going off on Plinkett-is-creepy tangents instead of explaining what is so perfect about the film. When he focuses on the latter, he nails it and presents a near-flawless analysis.

I enjoyed listening to this.

me too. doesn't compare to his trademark plinkett reviews but still worthwhile. if you've seen star wars as many times as we probably all have then you don't even need the movie running alongside it

I thought the Prometheus question-review was hilarious.  I've watched it multiple times now.

My cold dark heart finds the SW stuff boring, but Heidecker and Ridgely, part how are they involved?! and part good to see her again!  Would have been interesting, SW wise, if they antagonised the audience to digitize their VHSs.

I enjoyed the new Half in the Bag. These guys continue to deliver on the Lucas bashing, which is well deserved. But how long can they keep it up?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Wow, how did they get Tim Heidecker?

Maybe he's a fan of Plinkett or Half In The Bag?

I have no interest in this. The guy's voice turned me right off from listening to his PT review, and I have no desire in trying to bear with it again.

He could read the phone book, and I'd listen.

I listened to the whole thing while watching the movie, and it was great. Some great observations, some truly funny bits (zink!) and worth a couple of bucks for sure.

I love Plinkett's voice!

One of my favorite things is how he tells Rick McCallum to shut up (just watch the first ~3 min).

I was worried when i first played his reviews but it turns out his voice isnt monotone at all...its just weird :D

besides, with this picture:

i simply cannot imagine another voice!!  personally i think he should do reviews while he's has pizza rolls in his mouth!!! BWAAAAAAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAAA

my personal favorite is in the AOTC review when he is comparing lucas' coruscant to ridely scotts blade runner and says "my computers are better than yours!"  that always cracks me up

but his analysis is without peer.  The third part of the ROTS review is the best movie review i've seen/read.
