Ground glass? I would like to construct something similar maybe with a Nikon D300 shooting RAW files. Thor's footage with the scanner was stupendous. The stills look good but moving video might be something completely different. I doubt a consumer camera has the dynamic range needed to capture all the information from film.

i'll find out what i can. although some of the equipment

is no longer made, or made from improvised parts.

it's basically a modified film strip projector.

the pulley system is based off a vhs motor, and connected

so that it moves at the rate of about 2 frames per second.

we used a manual system before which was much more

tedious. there's a lens between the camera and the

projector. i'll try to find out the light source type also.
