Yes, but don't you think the prequels would better work as a trilogy that does not take away any of the surprises of the 'sequels'? I mean, on one hand they did not include the 'Hyperspace Lines' when prequel ships jump to hyperspace as 'to not spoil the surprise in the original films', yet they have no problems spoiling the Vader/Anakin surprise. To me that's highly contradicting, and leaves the impression the storyline is a lot less important than the SFX.

Sometimes I believe it's not really George Lucas making all these odd decisions but special effect junkies at ILM that are drunk from all the technological toys available to them, that kinda make the whole thing 'SFX biased' by indirectly influencing him with tons of 'suggestions'.

As a result, the two trilogies are like a jigsaw puzzle with overlapping peaces, imho.
