Yoda Movie

Ok, since no one seems to like my Old Republic trilogy idea, what about a Yoda movie or trilogy? I’ve always liked Yoda & have always been highly curious about his past. And yes, I know Lucas would have to be left out of the writing & directing unless we wanted a muppet movie. Zahn as writer & Camron as directer. I posted on another thread that those two should bring the Thrawn Trilogy to the big screen.

I like TPM, but that puppet was awful! He didn't look like Yoda at all - in fact he looked more like a choking frog. I'm glad they fixed him with CGI, though I do like the way Yoda looks in EMPIRE better. The CGI Yoda looks decent to me, but his color has never been quite right. And the puppet from the OT had wiser eyes somehow.

Insulting CPY should be grounds for an immediate ban.

Strange, I like TPM but didn't like the Yoda puppet and you like the Yoda puppet but didn't like TPM. Hmm . . . I wonder what a shrink would say about that?  : )

Hmm, it's less fun when you have to spell it out, but here goes...

TPM is such a train wreck, that I find some of the more hilariously-awful scenes (such as creepy puppet yoda, or CPY for short) to provide some motivation for watching it.  It's also why I can't stand fan edits that remove Jar Jar.  Take out the awfulness, and what's left is just boring.  CPY gives me something wierd and kooky to look forward to, so I don't fall asleep or worse start chewing my arm off.

I find episodes 2 and 3 unwatchable. At least episode 1 sucks.

I'm tempted to make this my signature.

I actually think a Jar Jar Binks spinoff movie could be either genuinely hilarious or so unfunny that it becomes unintentionally hilarious. Either way, I for one would like to see it.

I do not know what to say about a Yoda movie.

Maybe if you included the line that I was disappointed not to here in

EP3 and am still hoping to here in Clone Wars.

I would watch Yoda in one of the Step Up movies.  That little guy has got some moves!

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

The phone was ringing, I'm back.   Now, where were we?

On topic;  I liked the way he was presented in Empire.  To me, he worked perfectly as the voice of the past.  He lost his mystical, wise old soul feeling in Phantom.  The stills I've seen from the last two films look like they just went full-on kids' cartoon for him - flipping around, twirling lightsaber.  It would be hard to undo that much damage to the character, even with Zahn at the helm.

So, you never saw the last two?

Directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring John Hamm

Actually that would be pretty awesome...

Apparently we haven't been properly introduced.  ;-)

I did not.

He means he took the oldest on a date, realized she was a menace, and wanted nothing to do with any of her two sithters because they'd likely just be clones.

I didn't want to derail the thread.  You can search around for various posts over the years if you're interested.  The short version -  I've seen Jedi twice, Phantom once, none of the SEs, nor the last two movies.

I last watched Star Wars77 six years ago, Empire80 about 15 years ago.  I'm an EU person.
