Thanks for the information. I know the dual layer tests weren't satisfactory enough, but I was wondering a couple of things.
Where you able to set the layer break where you wanted or did the authoring software put one in where it thought it should go? How did the DVD Player handle the layer switch?
These are pretty important questions as I was reading some information on Dual Layered burners on VideoHelp.com and some were disappointed with their tests because they couldn't control where the layer break was inserted.
When I did my two disc versions, I chose these points in the films as disc break points.
1.) Hope - Disc one ends right after Tarken says, "Terminate her immediately!"
2.) Empire - Disc one ends right after you see Yoda's concerned expression just before Luke peeks in the hole of The Magic Tree.
3.) Jedi - Disc one ends right after Han tells 3PO, "Hurry up. I haven't got all day.". I probably should have ended that one a little sooner though as the disc ended up over an hour and turned out to be 4.75GB. It still played fine on my player though.
Thanks.
