I’ve been watching this forum for like two years now with very few commenting but now I’ve decided to start my own fanedit of Episode I.
I know that many of you may think that we have enough of those and what could I possibly do to make something differnet and fresh. Well this is for my personal enjoyment of the movie and in order for me to enjoy the movie I need something differnet and fresh. Of course I’m going to edit the usual stuff that almost every faneditor of this movie does and hopefully take things further.
So the things I’m planning are:
Remove cheesy or redundant dialog.
Improve the overall pacing of the film.
Trim bad acting especially from Jake Lloyd.
Less boring political dialog.
Make the queens dialog sound like an actual girl.
Remove CG cartoony characters as much as I can.
Darken Sidius face and lower voice to preserve the plot twist in later movies.
No CG two head announcers during the pod race.
Make Jar Jar much more tolerable and less cartoony
No virgin birth
No chosen one
No midichlorians
Trim the pod race to a tolerable running time withouth draging.
Make the Neimodians less coward as possible.
No “Oh, oh” from the droids.
No “Yipee” from Anakin.
Insert Anakin fighting deleted scene.
Insert Probe droid deleted scene.
Color Correction to keep it more consistent with the Original Trilogy.
Rescore a lot of parts with Original Trilogy themes.
No C-3PO.
Darken Darth Mauls neck on the Coruscant scene where you can see his neck without makeup.
Remove Darth as a name for every sith.
And more as I get ideas.
Things I might do if they work or I’m able to do them:
No Gungans vs. droid fight.
No spacebattle, perhaps move it to the part when they escape Naboo.
Redub Jar Jar in English or subtitle him with the soundtrack from another language.
Redub Neimodians in English or subtitle them with the soundtrack from another language.
No Gungans except Jar Jar.
Rotoscope out silly background characters especially from Tatoinne.
Color Correct Palpatines clothes that change of color during a scene in Coruscant and then change back.
I’m using the Bluray as the source and the NTSC DVD for the deleted scenes.
Please post ideas and opinions of what you think could make the movie better.
