Is 01:39:38:13 supposed to look like it does? Seems like another reconstructed colour anomaly but I'm not sure. It just looks damn weird.
Something I just noticed, in the shot where the falcon, y-wing and 2 x-wings are flying toward camera and away from the death star just before it explodes, the death star actually looks different than it does in the GOUT. What's up with that?

Leonardo and me were thinking to work on the Italian version just as we have seen the German version been proposed and developed. It would consist in the audio track from the 2006 DVD which luckly seems to have remained unchanged and we'd have to re-do in HD all the titles at the beginning and end of the movie based on the original VHS tape + the subtitles to greedo.
@thxita: Sounds great guys :-)
@n00b: That shot bothered me as well but I've finally manage to fix it.
@keysersoze5: Yeah, I'm working on that :-)

Cool.

For those looking to maybe get liberated from typically 50KB/s or less speeds of uloz, I decided to forgo Dropbox (which could shitcan my public folder privileges on a whim) or trying to upload to some other godforsaken service that might disappear tomorrow and just put WP3 folder access via a new group in my FTP server. (I have to assume that's OK if links to uloz are fair game. Only the WP3 folder - as opposed to the rest of Harmy's stuff or the rest of my Star Wars stuff in general - is being shared).
You can optionally connect with explicit ssl (FTPes).
My upload bandwidth is quite good for a home connection (25Mbit) but in order to ensure speed I've limited it to four people at a time, and one connection (read: one download) at a time, which is still double uloz's top speed. This is a temporary dealy of course, for obvious reasons, and you'll have to implictly trust me as your IPs are all logged. You'll all be seeing my public IP, too, so it's a two-way street.
It would be a good idea not to use a web browser, but a real client like FileZilla or maybe Cyberduck, or FireFTP for Firefox. Make sure you're in passive mode.
Everything WP3 through R6 is up. R2 is an mkv file. Of the examples, the Luke saber-training on the Falcon, the latest trash compactor, the latest Obi/Vader is up.
And please, play nice, and don't try anything stupid.

Probably not the best thing to post on a forum that's indexed by Google and then available to the whole nothing-to-do-with-Star-Wars world, then... just sayin'...

Of course, that was totally klutzy. Should have just had people PM me. The harm's already done though, and this isn't something I plan on keeping up for that long...

What?!? Where's the link? Oh, nevermind...
Someone appears to be having some trouble connecting. If you're not using a client, I suggest you switch to one. If you are, I suggest you shut it down and maybe restart your computer.

Lol, yeah, the shot looks 'instagrammed' :)

Just got an account here, hate that I have to do this but as much as I love Star Wars it's faster then searching through 185 pages of comments.
1st: I downloaded the demonoid torrents for the entire trilogy and have the iso files. Are these the most current or has there been a new release?
2nd: If anyone can tell me how to mount the images so that i can play them or can point me to a thread that does explain this, please instruct me
3rd: If i burn the files to a dual layer dvd, will it still only work in blu-ray players? im assuming so, hence the earlier question in case i want to show them to someone who has no hdtv/bluray capability
Thanks, I fully and deeply appreciate the help that is hopefully forthcoming.

1: New release of Ep. IV is in the works; everything else is current.
2: Mounting the thread in a player like VLC is easy - just point the player at the ISO and go! :)
3: Yes, this DL DVD will only play in BluRay.
Welcome to the site!

1: There's a new release for SW coming very, very shortly. Harmy is nearly finished with it, by reading only the last few pages of this thread you'll get a good idea of how far along he is. He plans on also doing Empire and Jedi as well (eventually), but those are a long way off. I'd recommend DL'ing Empire and Jedi and waiting for the new version of SW.
2: I'm a fool when it comes to this sort of thing but I found it very easy to do using ImgBurn (a free program.) Here's the directions for using ImgBurn to burn it to a DVD. For burning the .iso you'd use the "write image file to disc" option and select the .iso. You'll need a DVD burner capable of burning DL DVD's obviously. The new version that's about to be released will also have a Blu-Ray version (for a single layer 25gb BD disc.) You'll need a BD burner for this. The directions can be found here. A DVD version will also be made available for the new version, and you'd follow the first set of directions I linked for that one.
3: Yes, you'd need a BD player (for both the older DVD versions you've already DL'ed and the upcoming improved version of SW). The DVD versions of the films are encoded in AVC-HD, DVD players can't playback discs with that codec.
I just watched this today. Fantastic job!! Harmy, are you still working on Despecialized 2.0? any plans for other improvements with Empire or Jedi?

I believe it's been stated that Harmy has plans for both ESB and ROTJ. However, this one required the most work. I'm sure the experts will chime in if I'm wrong.
So it appears my computer has shut itself off or my router is having issues, so no access there until I can get it started again (till Wednesday morning).
EDIT: nvm, dunno what happened there. Seems to be back in action, if it ever was out...

I think Harmy said ESB has to be done from scratch again.
Well, in a way, Jedi and ESB will have to be started from scratch because of sourcing them from BD but I will use most of the old despecialized shots.
I know you did all you could do with Jedi, but it's a shame we can't find a higher quality source for all the missing footage - The Lapti Nek scene stands out a lot more than the space battle in ANH.
But I always loved your ingenious way of solving the cut away shot with Jabba.
Anyway, back to topic!
What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.
Thanks for all the help, I'm up and running. Definitely going to watch all 3 this week.
At the risk of derailing things, I hope when it comes time for ESB there's some way to take advantge of the proceedure Snicker has described. ESB bothers me the most in terms of the black crush, and missing colour info, primarily through the asteroid chase and all of the imperial fleet stuff. There's so much missing info that anything halfway shadowed blends with the starfield background. Any way to rescue some of that would be nifty!
So I finished rendering the final WP (it took just shy of 35 hrs to render :-/ ) and now I'm about to start uploading it. It's only something like 3.7GB MKV, so the quality isn't super high but very watchable. I forgot to set the cropping parameters before rendering, so you'll be treated to brighter boarders from time to time but nothing too gruesome hopefully. It has the monomix for audio (in correct speed - the usual on-screen timecode will make sure that you can give me any observations with the correct timecode for my project file) and if you wish you can mux it with any GOUT synced audio you want.
If you want to check it out, please send me an e-mail to jipph@email.cz, please don't send me PMs, the size of the inbox is really small here. If you're a member here, please give me your user name in the email. Also be patient, it will take ages to upload the whole thing.
