Anyway...
I always thought the Clones of the Clone Wars should have been like Kahn and his fellow Augments from "Space Seed"...
...But that's just me!
Furthermore... Old Klingons v. New, Kirk v. Picard, TOS v. TNG....
lol

-It's called STAR WARS. NOT "Episode IV: A New Hope". Kids, get this straight.

Anyway? Show me a Star Wars reference in an Information Society song.
See, Star Trek is better. /thread
If for no other reason, Star Trek is better because I am in this photo:
...and, no, I am not Chris Pine.

Cool! Did you work at the Trek Experience in Vegas?
Where were you in '77?
No, I was hired for the shoot.

Oh I see. Why did they want a Ferengi instead of a TOS alien? Was it a screen used costume you got to wear?

My understanding is that they originally wanted a Klingon, but Chris didn't want an outright Trek shoot, so a Ferengi was their next choice as it seemed a bit more subtle.
And it was a screen used Ferengi costume from DS9.

I hope you have a facial mask on :-)

No doubt about it. Being in a magazine shoot with the star of a new Star Trek film - playing the part of an alien sitting at a counter in a diner - eating a bowl of cereal - and scowling at the star - that has some definite cool factor attached to it. Well done, sir.
The Ferengi were the best new species introduced in the post-TOS Trek. Even better than the Cardassians and The Borg. Yes. I said it! (Although they started out as the WORST new species in TNG Season 1 haha). Honestly, they were almost Gungan bad in the beginning! If only Jar-Jar and co. could have gotten cooler! haha

The Borg were cool, but they were a two-note hit ("you will be assimilated" and "I was once individual and therfore have conflicted feelings about assimilation when you get down to it"). The Ferengi have better long-term personality. But as there has been no movie to feature them, the Borg are still the cooler space-Terminators of the ST multiverse.

Since the new reboot dismisses all previous continuity under the pretense of an "alternate timeline", I feel they should have Ferengi, Borg, or any post-TOS species in the mix. My only "demand" is that they bring back Klingons to their black turtle-necked, gold-vested, short-haired, smooth-headed, Cold-War allegory-roots! But I have a strong feeling JJ won't quite deliver that kind of "retro" throwback to any Trek sequel he works on...

With the "F the continuity" attitude of the new JJ Abrams films, who knows. I mean that in a good way. Like Star Wars today, ST has been a victim of its own popularity, the result of decades of exponentially defined boxes limiting what writers can and can't do. Comic books solved this by occassionally starting over, and since movie franchises appeared a few decades later they are only now discovering this.

I'm trying to prove a point to a friend. Please give me as much input as possible. Even compare characters (Example: Darth Vader > Nero, any why).
What could be hotter than Picard selling cakes of women going to the bathroom?
Star Trek is horrible. It has George Takei, Federation headquarters is in San Francisco (where Sulu was born, no less), and worst of all, humpback whales! It's worse than DisneyLand's Gay Day in the Star Trek universe!

Comparing star wars & star trek is like comparing apples to oranges - they're both fruit but completely different. Both are great stories with great films.
I hope its ok to comment on old posts like this. i am new and still figuring this place out :)
I love both star wars and star trek, having grown up with both. i think they are equally amazing, but tend to favor star trek, probably because there is more of it. there always seem to be new movies, new series, new things on the horizon. the conventions and actor appearances are more prolific. i cosplay as characters from both, but dont have as many opportunities to be padme or leia as i do uhura.
And regarding a comment made above about uhura's mirror outfit, she definitely should have worn that all the time. way cooler than her everyday TOS wear. ;)

Star Wars = war
Star Trek = peace
The difference is night and day!
