Do you live in my house? Because that's our freaking problem.DuracellEnergizer said:
I hate summer. It gets too damn hot for too damn long, and the one air conditioner my shitty house has doesn't even produce enough of a chill to adequate cool even a single room.
We went out and bought a ceiling fan a couple days ago. I'm on a ladder for an hour getting it up there and built, and it doesn't work! I can't even spin the blades freely, and nothing at all happens when I have the controller hooked into the system. We return it and get another one the next day, I spend another hour building it and IT DOESN'T WORK EITHER! The blades spin and it works when I connect the motor directly to power, but it doesn't work when I hook it up to the speed controller/remote receiver. I'm stumped. Could it be that the wiring in my 130 year old house isn't adequate? Could it be the lack of a ground wire? Is it a bad motivator?
I call my step-dad about it, bring my father-in-law over, no one has a clue. Everything is hooked up right, it just doesn't work when you try to use the remote.
I call the number on the instructions. After being on hold for 10 minutes, I get a tech, whose first question after hearing the problem was "Did you remove the plastic from the battery?"
To be fair, the plastic was VERY clear!
