Thanks for the mini review. First off I'd like to say that I really apprecaite all your hard work with reviewing, posting covers, seeding torrents, etc - so please dont take this the wrong way, but your review somewhat contradicts one of your other posts. Above you say that the DL disc picture quality "is only a BIT better than the Anamorphic set that is out now spanks the LOOK and the TR47 set". So this would lead me to believe that the anamorphic set spanks the TR47 set in picture quality. But in this thread you state that "Compared to TR47’s discs, they look almost exactly the same except that these discs are anamorphic and have a slightly higher color level. ROTJ looks a little softer in places compared to TR47’s." I realize that the above quote was from RowMan, but you did say he was an unbiased reviewer whoose opinion you trust. So does the current anamorphic set spank the TR47, or do they look almost the same? Anyway, no disrespect - just wanted a little clairification. Thanks again for all that you've done!

EDIT: Soon I'll be able to make up my own mind, as mailed some blank discs to DigitalFreakNYC late last week to get a set of the Anamorphic version.

You'll need to make your own mind up dude.

EVERYONE here has different levels of components as far as their Home Systems go so it real real depends on what you got -

- The Anamorphic set has better colors and looks better on my LCD projector
- The TR47 set SOUNDS the BEST on my Onkyo
- The 1 and only DUAL LAYER DVD that my friend captured looks ONLY SLIGHTLY BETTER then the Anamorphic SET - AND NOT worth my encodeing them to dual layer or duplicating them asthe differance was only noticeable on my PROJECTOR but NOT on my 27"

- THIS IS ALL MY OPINION ONLY

The difference is neglagable and VERY HARD to really notice AS EVERYONES TV has different color/sharpness settings - Some of you have 60" SONY WEGA's some of you have 20 years old RCA's - I use the "Avia Guide to Home Theater Home theater information and setup DVD" to adjust my personal (and clients) home theater some folks use "Digital Video Essentials - DVD NTSC Home Theater Setup" and MOST of you use the "does that look right?" - method

Some share it some don't - IF you want the best get the REAL LASERDISCS - Period

I've not yet watched these fan created DVD's in their entirety as I've stated before - I have and will only watch the LD's (I have a video proccessor and I can adjust colors and contrast + it's also line doubler) and I get a WAY better result then ANY of these DVDr's

- Rowman has givin the most impressive and complete reviews - If you want to do a review by all means post in the VERSIONS thread
