Went with the better half and a pal.
Ridley Scott managed to make a B-Movie plot into one of the most significant genre films ever so even if it wasn't as good he couldn't screw it up that badly....
We were wrong, we were so wrong.
Some amazing visual set pieces and a few mildly nasty moments does not make up a choppy inconsistent tone and a lackluster story.
The acting is top notch which makes it all so much sadder.
Those performances and those amazing sets deserve to be in a much better film than this.
It's worth seeing (on dvd or blu-ray one day) but it wasn't worth the wait.
Alien 3 is a much better film (I imagine Aliens fans will even agree with me here).
Avoiding the trailers would probably have helped as what little the film has to offer looks and feels better in the trailers.
Urgent note to Ridley, old people should be portrayed by old actors not middle aged actors in really bad halloween masks.
I'd give it 6 out of 10 for the bits that worked.
