Nice! Finished your five minute demo, right? I don't have an audio format preference, and I would think something like an MP3 would be good enough for Zombie to check out and make sure he likes where this is heading.
I don't actually think Zombie can check this out and say if he likes where it is heading or not.
Anything we do with this has to be completely unofficial. Like he said in his last post, if we looked for permission for everything we do here, the things that have made this site thrive wouldn't be here. My interpretation of his post was that he was essentially saying that doing something like this wouldn't bother him personally so long as the quality was decent.
I love the idea of an audiobook for The Secret History of Star Wars. If an official one existed, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat at full price. Libervox audiobooks on the other hand... I've yet to meet one I could stomach listening too. When I first heard about Libervox I thought it was one of the most amazing ideas anyone had ever come up with, but then I downloaded a few and discovered that listening to amateur readers with five dollar microphones for anything longer than a minute could probably qualify as a form of torture in many countries. That being said, every now and then you'll find a book with an absolutely fantastic reader, perfect voice and a great quality recording and think, hey, this is great, I could listen to the whole books like this... until chapter two and the shrill voiced girl takes over.
So maybe this could turn out okay.
