Too bad there isn't a way to actually make a Kickstarter for this? Obviously it wouldn't work, because we wouldn't have control over an OT BD actually being made. But if there was such a thing as a "theoretical" Kickstarter, that still required funds being donated (dontae-ted?) to show seriousness (prevent fake pledges), with the promise they'd be refunded after a certain date, it would give an indication of how much interest there is in an OT restoration on BD (in no way doubting that the number of people interested in the OT is extremely high). It would be very interesting to see how high and how fast the pledges would sky rocket. I honestly think it would be in the high millions in a very short amount of time.
i think in the real kickstarter,
no money is actually taken until the project
is a reality. that way you only pay if the project
is funded and completed.

This is true. So, if someone at TheForce.Net (*wink*) (<-wink) were to create a Kickstarter project that asked for pledges- and were it to be shutdown before completion, no money would actually change hands and yet the amount ($$$) of interest would be a matter of public record.
