Though the actual fight is kind of lame, and I absolutely hate the movie as a whole, the scene with Obi-Wan and Jango fighting in the rain on Kamino was one of the most visually pleasing scenes in the PT, to me. Something about rain splashing on sci-fi body armor... I guess fights in the rain are kind of cliche, but for some reason people keep putting them in books and movies, and for some reason they stir some instinct inside me every time.

Mos Espa in TPM was great. We got to see our favorite desert planet for a second time in ROTJ, but only the vacant desert. Seeing a familiar place so nicely reproduced and so true to the original Star Wars felt a bit like going home, in a way. Of course, when we returned to the planet again in AOTC, I started feeling a bit sick of the place.

And Naboo in TPM was gorgeous through and through. That was one of the things the prequels did well, created this new planet that felt tangible, like a real place you could imagine yourself visiting. From the open grassy fields, to the palace, the the hanger bays, the fighters, and the reactor core. Even the underwater city was pretty looking and an exciting concept (though a bit silly in its context, and home to an unredeemibly annoying and unbelievable stupid race of aliens). I wish we had gotten something similar by visiting the Mon Calamari home world in a much better version of the PT.

Nothing in ROTS was worthwhile visually beyond the opening space battle, I loved the fighters with their ion engines zipping through the fight. Unfortunately, my enjoyment of the entire film ended mere moments later when CG clone pilots and buzz droids made an abrupt appearance. (I agree with RLM, there is too much crap on the screen, it is a horrible scene, but for those first few seconds before all that crap shows up that scene has you thinking, Wow, finally the PT is giving us a scene with a real space battle! For a few second that opening almost made you think you might be in for something exciting along the lines of the battle at the end of ROTJ. The Death Star trench run. The snow speeders on Hoth. The battle over Endor. Those were such fun and exciting scenes. The PT never even tried to come close to anything like that, except for those very first few short lived seconds of ROTS).

Grrrrrr, talk of the PT is depressing! There was so much potential there!
