been digging through a lot of old stuff from my past.. and liked this set of covers.. forgot about star wars 2: world of fire .. strange title/story and

cover..

the first two books were in black and white, while

the last two were color.. jedi was also very skinny and

thin.. compared to the other books.. empire is pretty thick.

with the best looking cover..

luke looks pretty strange on most of them..

leia is ok, and darth vader looks pretty good..

I have the first one around here somewhere. World of Fire originally ran in the UK Star Wars weekly magazine IIRC.

Does your copy of Empire have the really creepy purple Yoda based on the concept art?

World of Fire is a pretty good read. I like how Carmine Infantino draws Leia, the B&W artwork is pretty awesome with the high contrast between light and shadow, and I love it when lost civilizations are explored within the greater SW Universe, so that's always bound to get a thumbs-up from me.

It's also interesting as to how the Guardian of Forever is designed; the look of its body armour is highly reminiscent of the exoskeletons of the aliens from the Alien franchise.

yeah it does! i'll have to scan that in to show what he looks like.. i forgot about that.. during 'the empire strikes back', i was in England,

and bought lots of books, magazines, posters for it..

i think this was one of them.. (although the US pressings

were probably the same).

did they change yoda later on?

Haha, found this while looking for a comparison of the Yodas. (Scroll down for the explanation and comparison)

I scanned those pages while doing a related project a long time back. I can upload all the purple Yoda panels if people really want to see them.

Bluemilk has it slightly wrong. The regular monthly issues had the redrawn Yoda, and the paperback had the purple, as it went to press early. (At least that what's I read about the whole thing back in the 80's.)

The Hasbro McQuarrie Concept Yoda figure is pretty close to that design, but is green.

-1 would a high resolution scan of the covers of your books be possible?

"Changing classic movies at all is just wrong." Puggo

"HA, Ha, you r ghey" was probably a hilariously insulting comment in Elementary and Middle School, but its not cooly insulting anymore and its certainly not funny: it makes people who say it look like, well, an "inbred monkey." TheSessler

"I'm still %20 the wiser. It amused me that after doing a google image search for "The Final Milf" the second picture is Roger Delgado followed by lots and lots of porn." Bingowings

My swedish copy of the paperback has the redrawn Yoda, most likely because it was released a few months later than the english original.

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

Like the Al Williamson stuff. I have the black and white limited newspaper 3 hardback set.

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.
