The Hey Bulldog sequence is one of my favourites, it really weirded me out when I was a kid watching it on the telly.
The bulldog himself is one of the best action figures too.
You know what's awful about this? That's a DIGITAL screening. You know, the kind where you're supposed to be able to completely prevent disasters like this. I thought they were meant to be idiot-proof! Goodness gracious Gaff, I'm sorry all of that happened. :(
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
To be honest, I've probably been to more screenings where the digital projection had screwed up than a 35mm film one. For instance, when I recently saw Pirates! In an adventure with scientists/Whatever the American audience calls it, the film started glitching and they had to start the film all the way from the beginning again.

Oh, yeah, I loved the Hey, Bulldog sequence as well. Granted, it helps that I like the song to begin with. I will disagree with Kev that I think it was rather pointless. Don't get me wrong. There are a few extremely pointless musical numbers in there, even with the somewhat tenuous standard it has set for that, like the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and It's Only a Northern Song numbers, which really are just, "Here's a song." At least the Hey, Bulldog sequence ties in to what's going on at the moment.
That's not really knocking it, and don't worry, kev, I really enjoyed watching it. Like I said, I didn't even notice the audio problems until near the very end.

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.
If only someone in the know would explain why there have been two different sequences all these years, and why the one I grew up watching has been buried. Animated films usually don't have alternate cuts like this.
