Looks amazing!!  Only thing that feels a bit... pointless, I guess... is the text on Vader's viewscreen.  The border is fine, but what's the purpose of that small text on the sides (even being sideways on the right) that would be impossible to read from that distance?

Bwaaa, suspension of disbelief in the sense that Vader perhaps cán see that text trough his helmet (as you know from Ep III, the lenses in his helmet are quite sophisticated).

And I should probably stop watching all those wonderful clips...otherwise little more surprises left (but it's so darn fun!)

The HUD on the screen and the glass animations were flawless, though they do come across as kind of prequelish.
Exactly. Visual continuity.

Plus, in moderation it's not distracting but just interesting to watch light up and jiggle around ^^

Loving the new clip.

Though I can't tell if the left side of the HUD is distracting because it's covering Ozells face, or just because I know it's new. Hmmmm...

If it were put to a vote, I would say "no" to the text on the viewscreen.  Is there a compelling reason it's there other than "cool"?

Everything else looked great!

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Rewrite the Prequels!

the hud on Vader's screen seems a little superfluous... not a major thing but it does stick out.

on the other hand the new graphics on the rebel screens were very much needed! everything else is fantastic too. begone blue Hoth! begone!

I like the outline thats been added on the inside edge of the screen....but I'd have to agree that the text makes it look a tad like a tactical display. I applaud the addition of them elsewhere but Vaders communication between himself and a man he's about to kill should be kept simple.

I'm going to agree with the non-text people. The text boxes are a little much.

I could only watch it in a staccato fashion as my ancient alien laptop and crummy internet connection doesn't work too well with that video hosting site.

It makes sense to me that there would be information around the screen.

Vader is a multi-tasking sort of guy.

It probably says things like :

A. Meditate On The Futility Of Hope.

B. Empty organic waste canister.

C. Choke Ozzel.

D. Arrange Meeting With General Veers.

E. Brush teeth.

I can't tell if the screen comes on or not and if the information is on before it cuts to the bridge camera (tomorrow I will have a look on the big computer).

But if it is general information it would make sense if that is always on and the bridge footage is underlaid beneath it.

I'm in the Bingowings camp, I liked the addition of the text and border to the screen; makes it seem more like a computer to me (which is what I would think the whole thing is, rather than just being a view screen). So much like a PC desktop it would have menu's etc...

@ Ady, "removed due to a "copyright" (which is suspiciously fast) :(

Glad I'm not alone about the text on the viewscreen.  Again, I'm fine with the border, but the text just seems pointless and unrealistic due to the distance.

My feelings precisely. The text isn't distracting (IMO), and it makes the display seem more sophisticated.

I think the text is just fine. One thing I like about the SW universe is that everything doesn't have to be explained.

So... why is the text there? Who cares. It's there because it's there. There doesn't have to be a reason. First time viewers wouldn't be distracted in the slightest.

Oh, and congrats on the new pad Ady. Glad to hear a 'good news' delay this time around.

Really diggin' the new displays - especially the Hoth displays, which I always found awkwardly sparse and static. ‘Twas wondering - at the very start of the clip, when the Rebel general is consulting one of the screens, is there to be any graphical additions made to that panel? Understandably, it pays to beware of making scenes overwrought, but for tactical visualisations (which these tablets presumably are) the inclusion of new GUIs goes a long way to making more vivid this military environment. And the general is looking at something on that display (seemingly what the Rebel opposite him is drawing/charting on the panel, before the other Rebel interrupts - might make sense to actually see what he's plotting? And that could be a minimal piece of information, which wouldn’t crowd the scene’s composition).

Either way - - top work. This'll be my definitive Empire.

It would be nice to see something similar in ARSE.

Absolutely fantastic! I lurk here all the time and rarely chime in but that was killer cool! My son asks me every other day "any word on the Adywan Empire?" I haven't been this excited to see a Star Wars movie since 1980.

(My 1980 Empire story, not on topic I know, but it's been kinda slow in here until today lol. This is just a side note and only read if interested!)

I was 10 and my mother told me Empire was starting in theaters tomorrow and my cousin was coming to pick me up to see it at noon. I was so into Star Wars those past few years and finally I would get to see another adventure! I couldn't hardly fall asleep at all that night & as soon as I did wake up I quickly got dressed and went and stood in the yard, and it was only 10.00 am LOL!

Finally he came and picked me up. He took me to a theater a bit farther away then where we all usually went as he thought the lines would be smaller, he was wrong! The place was packed and the whole theater lobby was all Star Wars'ed up with all kinds of cool theater stands and displays that were awesome!

We got some snacks and made our way into the crowded as hell theater which was filled with people and their Star Wars infected kids. I have seen many movies since then, but NOTHING, even Return Of The Jedi ever compared to the enthusiasm and energy in that theater that day, the atmosphere was electric! Everyone was soo pumped to be there, from the youngest child to the oldest grandpa, everyone knew we were about to be a part of history. The opening Star Wars logo popped up on the screen with that old familiar theme and the place erupted with a cheer that was as loud as if the Beatles or Rolling Stones just hit the stage!

Im not going to go into the movie oohs and ahhhs, but another thing I never forgot happened at an odd moment. The theater was quiet when the movie started as everyone was totally engrossed into what we were seeing, until 1 moment... The very second R2D2 & C3P0 came into frame in the Hallway on Hoth the place erupted in applause again, 10 times louder then before! (not kidding, it was amazing!)

I went home that day so amazed with that movie, it was such an amazing experience that nothing I have seen since can even compare to. I made my mom take us again the next week so my brother could see it. Then, for months to come every week when my mom went to shop I made her drop me off at the theater by myself so I could see it again. I saw it 14 times lol

I thought that the excitement that these movies gave me back then was just a memory. I have bought every release they have made of these movies fro VHS to Blu. But of all these releases, even the 97 theatrical rereleases, these Adywan versions are THE ONLY thing that brought me back to being a kid again!

Ady you and everyone you have working on these are SOOOO appreciated by us loyal Star Wars fans. The time & effort you guys sink into these is above and beyond what anyone ever imagined someone could do outside of Skywalker Ranch. Thank you all SO much!

(ps: I like everything you did there, I dont care if you put dancing monkeys on the Vaders viewing screen, with everything else as bad ass as it was you have my approval!)
