Dr. Who......The Doctor!.................... "wonderful chap!......ALL of them!"
I used the watch Dr. Who as a kid. Alast, the show is no long alive. I think it had somewhere around a 27 season run. It was geared towards kids, mostly. It centered around a time traveler, who it known as "The Doctor". He comes from a race of people known as "Time Lords" . Their Home planet is called "Galifrey". The Doctor travels around in space and time in a device shaped like a police box (on the outside) It is known as a "TARDIS" (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) One of the weirdest element about the Tardis is that it is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. The Time Lords don't believe in interfering in the affairs of other races of people in the galaxy. Not even to help inocent peoples from being concured by evildoers. The docter doesn't agree with this and leaves his people. With the help of various companions throughout the series (which were usally humans) he battles various bad guys and keeps them from taking over planets, and conquering the Galaxy and much of the series he is saving Earth. Over the years he has had various villians such as the Cybermen, Yettie, Sontarans, Sea Devils, Silurians, The Master(another Time Lord), and various other monters and such. But by far the greatest Dr Who Villians were the DELEKS!. They are the favorite Dr Who monster. Two Dr Who feature films were made inwhich the Daleks were the main villians. The Docter was a man of great intelligence(that is how he usally defeated his enemies). Time Lords have two hearts and they live for a very long time. In fact, they regenerate. When the body lies near death, it transforms into another body with a new look and different personallity. This made it easy when the actor playing the Doctor wanted to leave the series. In the series The Doctor regerated 6 times, Giving the Doctor a total of 7 selves. The actors who played them were William Hartnell(the 1st doctor),Patrick Troughton(the 2nd doctor), Jon Pertwee(3rd), Tom Baker(4th), Peter Davison(5th), Colin Baker(6th), and Sylvester McCoy(the 7th and last doctor). Supposedlly, a Time Lord can only regenerate 12 times. Also in the main cast were the various companions that traveled with him. Other joined him as others left. This show was originally supposed to premiere on 11/22/1963. The premiere was delayed due the the Kennedy Assassination. It actually premiered on 11/23/1963. I guess you could say Dr. Who is to England what Star Trek is to America. It hardcore fans are known as "Whovians" I know it sounds weird but I liked the show anyway. There are various websites that can tell you more if you want to learn.
