Instead of stating your opinion as fact maybe you should elaborate as to the depth you see where he does not.
I saw depth in the story myself but it often ended up seemingly convoluted and unnecessary. This is an odd thing to say, but many of the shots looked like they were closing ones for the film - ie essentially most times they did that pan into the Wayne penthouse, I thought "is it finally over?" It's tough to explain, I'm not really a film person. But there were SO many moments where the movie felt like it was supposed to end. And I'm sure it was intentional and meant to help the drama, but to me, it just made the film drag.
That said I'm excited for Rises.
