Hell yeah!  Sherlock is simply amazing.  I'm particularly happy with what they did with Moriarty - I was wary of his characterization in Series 1, but after Series 2 I wouldn't have had him any other way.

"People have died!" "That's what people DO!"

Is this the thread where people spoilerificaly discuss the ending to Series 2 of Sherlock?

Wait... You mean you haven't seen season 2 of Sherlock???

Just saw the South Park episode You Have 0 Friends. It reminded me how much I hate Facebook and inspired me to permanently delete my profile (2 week cooling off period pending).

I like to think I'm no prude when it comes to sex scenes but I am beginning to find the rumpy pumpy in Game Of Thrones a bit surplus to requirements at times.

It feels like they have some sort of quota to fill which hasn't really got much to do with progressing the story.

It's also a bit one sided.

Lots of shapely lady bits and the occasional flash of gentleman's bits (and then not always of the highest quality).

My preference is a matter of public record but as the series and the books have a large following across the gender lines and would it hurt to show less attractive women as well as the classier strumpets and have the chaps bother to disrobe before commencing?

To be honest and perhaps more pertinently they could cut about a quarter of the sex scenes and convey exactly the same atmosphere and maybe squeeze a bit more storytelling into each episode.

Ultimate Spider-Man

It's got nothing on Spectacular. Why they have saddled the webslinger with Nick Fury and bunch of nobodies is a mystery to me. A very large part of the character's appeal to me is that he is a young hero that has to make hard choices on his own. We've already got The Avengers - Earth's Mightiest Heroes for a Marvel team-up cartoon (which by the way is excellent).

Theon's companion on the ship and his sister certainly qualify, I think.

Actually, I have.  I wanted to discuss (spoilerificaly) the ending.

Theon's companion on the ship and his sister certainly qualify, I think.

She looked less attractive for television but if the aim is to build a realistic feeling fantasy she was average to real life.

You'd pass many women, happily married with active social lives who look like her and you'd bet there would be some women who would envy her looks (especially her figure).

Though that was one of that episodes surplus to requirements sex scenes.

You could have got the same impression (probably better) by having the scene nonsexual and have Theon describe to a none too interested male sailor the of the sort of heroic return he was expecting.

I thought his sister was rather attractive in a strong Celtic young matrony way and all he did was a bit of a fiddle mid-drive.

What I was talking about was locations like the brothel.

Surely there are tired pug ugly women of court who would pay for a bit of slap and tickle either from a sexy fella or a sexy gal.

Also I imagine there would be wealthy men of court who prefer pug ugly women or really rotund ladies.

It just seems like the show is pandering too much to the titillation angle rather than painting a diverse and realistic no holds barred fantasy world.

How do you permanently delete your profile? I didn't know you could do that.

Doesn't really matter to me anyway, I got rid of mine for good by opening up notepad and typing a bunch of stuff I can't remember like "sdjkhsdfkg" into it and then changing my password to that. I then proceeded to deactivate my account, and when it asked for my password, I copied and pasted it into there. So now, even I wanted to re-activate, there's no possible way I could remember what I typed. I'm pretty proud of myself for that.

Just saw the pilot of that new Batman television series and it's really bad, like Angel but without the vampires or The Equalizer without Eddy Triple Wood bad.

He doesn't even have an batcape or anything and the villains all have normal faces and why is called Person Of Interest?

Person of Interest has become a pretty good series.  Much better than the standard CBS Cop Shows.

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

I've seen my share of dull pilots turn into solid series so I will watch some more.

Jim Caviezel looks like Eric Roberts but lacks his nutty edge (which is the bit I like, especially when I was him for a brief period).

I dunno.

More importantly, what's with Jesus working for the CIA on this show???

All of Dollhouse.

Started out kind of slow - the first half of season 1 is pretty much standalone "client-of-the-week" stories.  But once it gets into the serialized story, holy shit does it get awesome.

I wish it hadn't been cancelled, just because the second season is so obviously 4 seasons crammed into one.  Hell, Whiskey's whole second-season arc is crammed into the first episode of the season!  It just feels very rushed in season 2.  I mean, the season 2 stuff is very good ... I just wish we'd gotten to spend some more time with most of it, since it kinds just jumps from BIG EVENT 1 to BIG EVENT 2 without getting time to explore the ramifications of BIG EVENT 1 very much.

Thankfully, because of the cramming, it did get wrapped up pretty nicely.  I still want MORE, but it was nice that season 2 gave us legitimate closure on the story.

Amy Acker needs to be in more things, though.  So does Fran Kranz.  His manic, slightly-mad-scientist vibe throughout the series is good and all, but he really shines in Epitaph One and Two as a broken shell of his former self - heartbreaking, really.

The best thing about the series for me was how much it really made me think about the implications of such a technology - about our identities, and about how much our bodies and our minds are one ... or not.

I mean, I love most of Joss Whedon's stuff, but Dollhouse is the only one of them that I've constantly thought about ever since I finished watching it - which was, at this point, about a week ago.  And I'm still thinking about it.

The post-series comic miniseries (Epitaphs) is pretty good, too - it does a decent job of filling in the gaps between The Hollow Men and Epitaph One/Epitaph Two.  It's much more successful than Buffy Season 8 was, anyway (not up-to-date on Season 9 at all).

Anyway, Dollhouse = 4 artificially-created personalities out of 5.  Would have been 5/5 if it had been given at least another season - some room to breathe instead of cramming 4 seasons into one.

Sorry, I missed this. I just Googled "permanently delete facebook" - actually I think I just typed "permanently" and it came up as an option. The search will give you a facebook page with instructions which basically involves sending an e-mail, then your account is deleted within two weeks.

Ultimate Spider-Man

Episode 4. This officially sucks. Yet another origin story for Venom where he comes from... the toilet. He isn't made of shit or anything, but this show is.
