You can claim otherwise Lucas, but we'll get the musical comedy trilogy of the Adventures of Waywa Fybot and Jaxxon the Rabbit soon enough.
Yes, there's still entirely too much money to be made.
The prequels jaded some older SW fans, but many of them still follow SW in its current incarnations and support the franchise financially.
Combine them with the younger generations that started with the prequels and you could potentially have some major, major profits.
Plus, anyone who doesn't think much of Lucas would probably be eager to see a SW live action vision from another writer/director.

The Star Wars Universe needs to get away from the Skywalkers. A film trilogy/saga taking place during the Old Republic might be a hoot.
Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Just because there won't be another Star Wars Episode, doesn't mean there won't ever be another Star Wars movie.
I can quite easilly imagine another Clone Wars movie or even a Boba Fett-based movie (Joe Johnston would jump at the chance.)

i think a case can be made he's retired since 1979, if not earlier.
there wont be any more movies - and not because the saga is finished. he just wont be able to get carte blanche for revenues like he did with the PT. so he'll stick with something much smaller that'll ensure a smaller but steady supply of revenue from the sycophants and stepford star wars fans.
There's no need for a new trilogy, is there? Star Wars is well represented in games and animated series; so why would he want to go back into the ring?
More importantly, who wants him to?

LOL. Yeah Im GLAD we didnt get any of that in the PT! I hope there isnt another film during the remainder of Luca$'s lifetime. He's ruined enough. I just hope his kids have the integrity to turn the movie reins over to a quality filmaker that can return the saga to its epic form.
