That's a good point. We saw sporting events being watched in the bar in Episode II, so there ought to be news broadcasts and even a "C-Span" for the Senate.

I managed to finally catch a couple clone wars episodes (one was actually interesting - obi-wan goes undercover and infiltrates a prison) and it seems like they use a news broadcast at the intro of each episode.

The voice over is actually in the style of old movie newsreels, especially WWII era.
