"To celebrate Bond’s 50th anniversary, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment have announced they’ll be releasing all 22 Bond films on Blu-ray later this year.

The collection, called Bond 50, will include all 22 feature films from Dr. No to Quantum of Solace and more than 130 hours of bonus features.

“With all 22 feature films available on Blu-ray in one collection for the first time this is a great way for fans to catch up on 007’s epic journey before Skyfall hits theaters next Fall,” said Michael Brown, Senior Vice President, MGM Home Entertainment. “Now viewers can enjoy the intense action of the innovative franchise in the most immersive home experience possible.”"

I would like to know if the bonus features are going to be the same old stuff, or will we be seeing something new. Come on MGM, tell us exactly how many of the 130 hours is new content!

The "screw you" collection if you already bought the previous individual releases, and just wanted to get the ones that hadn't come out yet.

Here's hoping the ones that haven't been released to Blu yet are getting the modifications seen on the HDTV releases.  OHMSS had awful color grading (particularly for the opening beach scene) on the DVD but on usa it seemed that they'd tweaked it some.  I'm holding out hope considering Live and Let Die got significant improvements from the DVD to Blu, even though it was from teh same Lowry job.

You'll only get the extras disc in the box set....including 90 minutes of parodies.

BUT, you won't get the classic documentary "From 'No' to 'Solice': The Making of A Saga".

There's not going to be any change form the previous editions. What we will get in this set are the discs previously released and similar ones of those as of yet unreleased.

I'm thinking that the differences in the Blus we've seen are simply because they are coming straight from the Lowry HD masters with little to no extra tinkering. The UE DVDs seemed to have many extra tweaks that were done to make the DVD image more impressive to standard consumers, much like the reasoning behind Edge enhancement and excessive over processing. The "fixes" are simply made by issuing the original files that did not have the extra meddling done on them. And the extra color timing changes are unlikely to be on the master.

What we certainly won't receive are lossless original audio tracks for every film, and images that accurately reflect the original films.

Especially the 60's era. After jumping into LD, I don't think MGM/Fox will ever be able to accurately replicate that original Technicolor brilliance.Use VLC's adjustments on the earlier UE titles and just raise the saturation a bit. Much of the color has been drained and it's really obvious on You Only Live Twice.

I'll wait for the individual releases to grab 1-20 because there might be some way to salvage the films with editing. I certainly won't ever buy a boxset that forces me to pay for the Craig films. Never.

It's going for £75/~$120 in my part of the world - $5.50 a disc. Why not buy the boxset and give the ones you don't want to a charity shop, rather than giving them even more money to make another movie that you'll hate? Everybody wins!
