It was kind of sad to watch all the excitement and build up in this thread, then to see it all deflate with that last trailer.

My excitement for it fell through the floor as well, but I am still going to go see it opening week. I rarely ever make it to the cinema, or deem films worth wasting money on the ticket price, and this is the first movie I have been somewhat excited about for a while now. Not to mentioned the director made two of my all time favorite movies.

I am not expecting much, but I'll give it a shot.

The points about Duncan Jones' Moon looking sexy and elegant with its clunky and modest technology is well made. Modern Sci-fi movies tend to jam pack the frame with way too much stuff simply because technology permits and they can. The prequels and J. J. Trek are great examples of this. Unfortunately, it looks like Prometheus is following suite. Not sure we should have expected it not to. Scott was brilliant and a bit on the edge at one point, but by now he is pretty mainstream and run of the mill. I'd love for this film to be a comeback, but there is really no reason to expect it will be.
