even though Vaders re- birth and Padme's death are intercut, I'd assume that Vaders recovery took a little bit longer than the films ending suggests.

I always secretly hoped that given Padme's history of using 'decoys/hand-maidens' that the body in the coffin wasn't her and that between Obi-Wan, Yoda and Bail Organa her death had actually been staged and she went into hiding in the Organa Palace on Alderaan.

It gets rid of the ridiculous 'died of a broken heart' after giving birth to two beautiful babies plot, and doesn't contradict Leia's memories of her mother.

Maybe it's something for Ady to consider when he gets around to ROTS, find a way to have Padme looking lovingly from the sidelines when they show Bail on Alderaan with his wife and their new daughter.
