Considering the fact that Vader is visibly shaken by Padme's death ("Noooo!"), wouldn't you assume that he would be grieving at her funeral? I never understood why him and Palpatine were not in the procession - one of her oldest friends/colleagues, and her husband. Even if news had spread that Anakin had killed her, the Emperor's executive powers would bypass any attempt to block him from being there.
