Okay, I'll clear up what I said. I have an immense appreciation for Birth of a Nation's innovation, and that's why I gave it a 6 (which is not bad).

However, the story is boring, uninteresting and offensive; and the pacing is far too slow.

The film is not badly made, it's just kind of bad.

Again, I'm all for giving an innovative film its due, but there are some people who call the picture a masterpiece and I think that's just ridiculous. The plot is a definite flaw. Again, I also understand the innovation in cinematic plot structure, but that's not everything.

Just my thoughts.
