Hey, MrinsaneA, you haven't missed much. This project is unfortunately stalled. It seems that everyone is quite busy, and unless I go into my usual obsessive overindulgent phases, this project has a difficult time continuing. I do worry about the viability of it, but I really don't want it to die.
When starting this thread, I honestly had no intention to be any sort of leader. I lack virtually any skill useful to this project except decent organizational abilities and decent writing/story skills. But I also suggested this project partly with the idea that when participants drop out, others can take their place. I'm not dropping out per se, but I feel my utility is largely used up, and I'm really trying to use my personal time better.
I've stated this before with little success, but I'm going to go for it again:
Who will lead this project? Who will keep the energy alive? Who will continue to supply ideas, organize what is necessary, and help see this thing though?
I still have a small role to complete, that is updating the script, perhaps writing a little extra for it to allow for some additional filmed material, etc. But I think I need to fade away into one of the peanut gallery members.
If I may posit a few suggestions:
Aalenfae, I think this project will never be completed without you. You have the greatest technical skills among us. I know you are busy with your personal life and your other edit, but if you are willing, you might be the best fit.
Johannus, you have shown the most initiative in reaching out to tap additional resources with costuming and puppetry and you helped me organize the last vote. Perhaps you've got the skills and passion to fill a leadership role for a time.
None of you is obliged to be a permanent "leader," and I think any other participant could take on the role: I know the whole editing team has offered or continues to offer a lot. Other participants have a passion for ideas and trying to provide mockups and scripting suggestions. Someone can do it and keep the energy alive for a time. But I can't
So this week, assuming I have time, I will update the script to a largely finalized version, perhaps add a few potential clips or scenes with suggestions of how to implement them, and then go back to reading but not commenting much. Please, please, someone step up to the plate. As Sluggo said (and I do appreciate it), we should not give up. This project can be completed if even one person has the determination to push it forward. Who will that be?
