There's "The Dark Times" edit that while not explicitly intentional in the OP. [ "I am now determined to create an edit for MYSELF. In other words, I'm removing everything about the prequals that I didn't like..." ] The running time of the first two episodes combined with the possible approximate running time for ROTS would'v made the final product viewable as a single film.
