Sorry I'm hardly around to do much here.  I really hope this project will not die.  I simply lack the skills to do it.

So I'm still wondering about physical modeling versus digital modeling.  For instance, would it be easier to simply film some of the ships rather than try to digitally render them?  I have a feeling that the models available on scifi3d.com wouldn't be so bad, but the scratch creations would be a real nightmare for aalenfae and whoever else assists with that portion of the film.  These are some options I've found for vessels we've talked of including but don't seem to have decent digital versions:

(for sale at  http://users.hunterlink.net.au/~ddwwp/ScaleSolutionsShopResinModelKits.html)

and

(on eBay for the next 18 hours!  http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WAR-ODYSSEY-SLIPWAYS-1-10000-SCALE-RESIN-KIT-VICTORY-CLASS-STAR-DESTROYER-/320856858484?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab48f1f74#ht_500wt_715)

I am tempted, but I honestly doubt I'd have the time to put anything together and paint it with any decency, at least till the summer.  I'm wondering if any skilled model workers are interested.  One way or another, it could be expensive purchasing and constructing models for our edit, but if you find model building rewarding, it might be worth it.

Just read in another thread... Ralph McQuarrie passed away yesterday.... tis sad news, I am glad i did the tribute sequence in my cut to show the emperors palace as it was intended to be a nod to him and not the PT....

Long live the art of Raplh McQuarrie though... So much inspiration to so many great films and TV series

By whom, who's going to make them?

Fixed.  Let's at least give Lucas credit for getting something right. ;-)

So, Johannus and I have shared a few PMs, and I think the current plan is for me to finish up the script update during Spring Break (next week), as I'm trying to be more focused on school lately (not always successfully).  He is also in contact with a great many costumers, and he's hoping to try to get some new material filmed (way to go!).  On top of that, he is still planning on building some models for our film which would likely be easier than asking aalenfae to design a bunch of new ships.  So he and I are going to talk about his resources next week and try to write a few little shots and/or scenes that could take advantage of his newly made connections.

I don't know what we'll be capable of.  I'm still hoping we have a team here.  But I think we could certainly accomplish a lot if those working on it put their minds to it.

Hey, MrinsaneA, you haven't missed much.  This project is unfortunately stalled.  It seems that everyone is quite busy, and unless I go into my usual obsessive overindulgent phases, this project has a difficult time continuing.  I do worry about the viability of it, but I really don't want it to die.

When starting this thread, I honestly had no intention to be any sort of leader.  I lack virtually any skill useful to this project except decent organizational abilities and decent writing/story skills.  But I also suggested this project partly with the idea that when participants drop out, others can take their place.  I'm not dropping out per se, but I feel my utility is largely used up, and I'm really trying to use my personal time better.

I've stated this before with little success, but I'm going to go for it again:

Who will lead this project?  Who will keep the energy alive?  Who will continue to supply ideas, organize what is necessary, and help see this thing though?

I still have a small role to complete, that is updating the script, perhaps writing a little extra for it to allow for some additional filmed material, etc.  But I think I need to fade away into one of the peanut gallery members.

If I may posit a few suggestions:

Aalenfae, I think this project will never be completed without you.  You have the greatest technical skills among us.  I know you are busy with your personal life and your other edit, but if you are willing, you might be the best fit.

Johannus, you have shown the most initiative in reaching out to tap additional resources with costuming and puppetry and you helped me organize the last vote.  Perhaps you've got the skills and passion to fill a leadership role for a time.

None of you is obliged to be a permanent "leader," and I think any other participant could take on the role: I know the whole editing team has offered or continues to offer a lot.  Other participants have a passion for ideas and trying to provide mockups and scripting suggestions.  Someone can do it and keep the energy alive for a time.  But I can't

So this week, assuming I have time, I will update the script to a largely finalized version, perhaps add a few potential clips or scenes with suggestions of how to implement them, and then go back to reading but not commenting much.  Please, please, someone step up to the plate.  As Sluggo said (and I do appreciate it), we should not give up.  This project can be completed if even one person has the determination to push it forward.  Who will that be?

I checked out wookiepedia about force ghosts and Vaders Ghost is apparently unique in that he did not make himself a ghost Obi-wan and Yoda did so he could complete his training, which is the official explaination anyway. So it's Dead Sith to become Dead Jedi with a little help from others.

Maybe we could play With A Little Help From My Friends as Anakin's ghost appears. Though I would suggest we use the Joe Cocker version rather than the Beatles...Otherwise it might come off as a little silly.

Out of interest has anyone got a copy of Spence's final cut edit? I'd love to download it, but also think possibly a combination of that and Dan's father son edit, would be the way to see this project forward...

Hey guys, I see things have been very quiet on here lately but I have been trying to put together some clips for a trailer and here is just a little preview.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHOqN16HCy4&feature=youtu.be

I have taken some liberties with regards to some of the changes I've been working on but I am hoping it adds more canges to the trailer rather than just cutting up the existing film.  Anyway hopefully I will have something more to show soon.

Also on a different subject, I went to see the Hunger Games the other day and there is a brief part in the film where a forested area is on fire.  If we decided to use the idea of a forest fire on Endor then I noticed at least one shot that could be used from this film.

what the hell happened... It's like a train wreck this thread... I'm sorry but I ran out of steam to keep the clips coming that I was contributing but It was'nt in the script anyway.....And I was never part of the team who were meant to be producing stuff lol... Nevermind... So what happens now?

If I get some time over the Easter I will try to finish the death star surface flight to the port in rough but are people really going to do this project together I doubt it...?

Anyway folks even if this dies we have ROTJ revisited to look forward to however that is going to be we'll have to wait.

Have a Happy Easter :)

I hope this can continue.  Angel has dropped out, and aalenfae does not have the time to devote to this that we would likely need.  In all honesty, if this is to be completed, we need some leadership that I can no longer provide due to real-word commitments that I'm actually trying to succeed at, and we need to see who of our team is still committed to getting this done.  We'd probably need a new version of aalenfae due to his busy schedule at the present, and could probably only ask him to do a few things.

Yes, Ronster, I have my doubts as well, though I hope things pan out, but I really cannot keep everything going, nor do have the skills to make it a reality.  And no one else has stepped up to the plate.  I never got around to finishing up the script, though changes there would be relatively minor as most major things had already been decided.  But I really am trying to succeed in this nursing program, and I bombed a recent test in part due to my misallocation of time.  If I get the script done, I'll make it available here for others to use, and probably put it in the scriptwriting forum too so anyone else can get inspiration from it.  I would love to see this done, but I have my worries and my doubts.

well best not too look down on what happened here even though the bustle seems to have gone for now there are things to show for it and that in itself is an accomplishment.

Things will pick up over the Easter I'm sure....

Take it easy D and good luck with your career and schooling that you doing :)
