Everything about Count Dooku left me cold, no menace or sense of threat inherent in that old man. Where as the OT had Darth Vader, and he was the focal point and personification of all the forces set against our heroes. And he was good at it. IF 7-9 were to be made, the first thing I'd want, is a really strong villain. Grand Admiral Thrawn is that in spades. This is all just my feelings on it of course.

I'd settle for a bunch of cartoon miniseries.
4 or 5 30-minutes episodes per book, so it would take between 12 and 15 episodes to finish a trilogy. That's about a season of TV (given how long Droids was on the air).
The next season, they could do the Jedi Academy series.

Individual books could be worked in for mid-off season broadcast.
