Not to mention, it makes Ben a bit of a crafty bastard in how he leads in to Luke joining him on his mission.
If there was any minor complaint with the extended Last Battle, it would be the music. While I loved the visual of the TIE reveal, the EMPIRE march did not fit very well due to its slow nature (especially in comparison to the rest of the LB music). If there was a way to create or add in music that flowed with the rest of the music in the last act, that would be fantastic.
