@snicker: I never touched that shot and the gate weave of the stars tells me that it wasn't digitally recomped either, so I assume it was always that way.

I was referring to the Blu-ray and not your edit mate. Just wanted to point it out as I can't recall it being mentioned previously.

The first scene was recolored to match the original wrong colors, I believe Luke's head is matted separately or at least the color is. This should have been redone in v2 because of the new HD source.

The second image was blurry due to Harmy having to use a picture of a movie screen in order to get the original matte just right. He has come into better sources for v2.

You hardly need to worry, we've got this. ;-)

Brilliant 005! I'm not worried, I'm thrilled! :-) Now I've got to read this thread from the beginning to understand how you've done everything.

It is kind of sad that this is done by the community instead of the original creator. I guess sadness turned to bitterness and bitterness turned to anger. But anger then seemed to lead  to creativity instead of hate. I'm so glad for that.

Thanks.

... I have left spanish subtitles synchronized with your releases. I'm working on subtitles for ROJ.

Thanks again :)

Don't bother on that pal, harmy already has all the spanish subtitles syncronized (GOUT DVD's source) I gave them to him some months ago ;-)

how can I get my hands on this theatrical high Def version??

V2.0 is currently being finished up.  Sounds like it is getting closer.  I would wait on this as Harmy and his workprints show that it will be superior to V1.0

thanks for that =)

how far off do we think it is?

Yeah, like I said before, I tried predicting how long it would take and was terribly wrong (I believe I predicted a couple of weeks being left like half a year ago :-D ) And even though it may not seem that way, I do have a life, so it will take as long as other stuff will allow.

But we're getting there, I now have all the materials I need, so there will be no more waiting for anything.

I watched version 1.0 again last night, I'm not nearly as technical as most of you when it comes to how everything should look, to me it looks amazing.  I'm very much looking forward to viewing 2.0.  Really great work here.

Considering Megaupload is down, anywhere else I could download the sweet cover art?

harmy, on the latest work print i noticed the colors in the desert seem to jump from light brown to a very vibrant yellow which i found jarring.  It starts when c3po and luke look for r2d2 and ends when they arrive at bens hut.  I can point out the shots and state whether they are light brown or vibrant yellow if you like.  were the colors that way originally?  i assume you'd know the best out of anyone.

Where's my damn medal?

Pretty much, yeah.

ok cool.  as long as the inconsistencies are consistent with the original inconsistencies ;-)

Dear George Lucas,

Thanks to Harmy, you can cancel the order of protection against me. Now that we all have a HD version worth watching.

Yours Forcefully,

Harmy, thanks for the awesome achievement. I really appreciate your efforts.

I'm sorry for the newbie, technical post, but I can't find any instructions on authoring physical media from the iso's. The search function returns no hits for DVD, Mac, or anything else of interest, and I couldn't find what I was looking for in the technical forum.

I have a stack of DVD+R DL disks, and a Snow Leopard Mac that can write to them. Toast Titanium was not helpful in making disks from the m2ts file. I just want something I can pop into my BD player so I can watch on a proper TV set.

If there's a thread or post that answers this, I'll of course be happy to take this discussion there. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide.

Any idea if and when we'll get a look at WP3_3, Harmy?  Once we get to Mos Eisley, that's where things get reeeeeally interesting for 'DE-ing' the shots :)

For authoring DVDs, I use IMGBurn for PC. I don't know if they have software for Mac. It is a free, easy to use program. I don't know of any others off hand, though.

I use a program called iskysoft.  That being said, you should wait on Star Wars.  Harmy's soon to be released version 2.0 is going to blow that one away.

Try giving Toast the ISO file, not the m2ts.
Although I'm not a Mac user, but 99% certain Toast should handle ISOs . . . won't it?
Shirley!

Sorry for off-topic.

Hey Harmy in the first reel, shouldn't STAR WARS title card appear on frame 689?
You had it on 688 in the workprint.
Besides that, I found your GOUT-sync most impressive!

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Thanks! Iskysoft worked great (though it did take forever to convert the data). I knew about SW 2.0, so I used Empire for the test run.

I'll try using Toast and the complete ISO for Jedi...

Thanks :-) You sure it's the wrong frame? It appears at the same time as my GOUT rip, which I have in a small PIP window to ensure sync.

Well, I'm already working on reel four but I keep going back to r3 and tweaking it and because it takes ages to render, I want to be satisfied with it before I do. I still want to re-render reel 2 as well.

Did you figure out where the flicker was coming from?
